Ooh, "The Argent Champion" is a good title for my pally, and I'm already revered with Argent Dawn because I have an OCD fixation on scourgestones. I should finish that off and then go for exalted with Argent Crusade.

So far I had two people whisper that they were going to report me for dual boxing on refer a friend when they asked how I was leveling so quick before WoTLK. Funny part is a real friend has referred me as I started over a new account  swamp poop

But honestly that instance leveling is pretty common knowledge and was warned(banned) last time as it was a major way for power leveling services.

AD rep is easy, just rip through Stratholme a few times. My Prot Paladin would pull the live-side undead mobs in chunks of a 100 or so  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

The funny part is dual boxing isnt against the TOS.

Not only that but Blizzard have made several very clear and specific comments saying that dual- and multi- boxing is fine, even using things like keycloning or control of multiple accounts with one keyboard & mouse.

Yea, as long as there is a person mashing the 'buttons' then they don't really give a shit.

Now a Bot that automatically plays your character through the night farming leather, that will get you a pretty quick ban ticket.

A guy in my guild was our server's first 80 (elemental troll shaman). Here's what he posted about it:
Quote
I have a couple things going for me.

First, going so fast lets me treat it like a pve server. I went running around at 1/3 health, no mana, or whatever and didn't have to worry about getting ganked because I was literally the only person in the zone. I similarly didn't have to wait on respawns or escort mobs to appear and didn't have to worry about getting mobs tagged out from under me. More or less all the quests worked for me since I was the first one doing them while others had problems with mobs/objects respawning. In short, going first lets you go faster.

I have to agree with him here. I really didn't like how I had to wait several minutes to kill every named mob and that most kill/gather quests I had to wait around forever and race to get the tag/item. It would have been much more pleasant being ahead of the pack. The only problem is you need to drop everything else to be ahead of the pack.

You're going to have to be quite a way behind the pack for it to stop. I'm lvl 70.6 after a week and I usually do my 30 mins in the early morning (like, 6.30am) but I'm still often in competition with others for mobs.

However, I have much Heart for the ultra-fast respawns in Northrend  awesome, for real

Only had a problem with named spawns on the first day although that was quickly resolved by grouping.  The ultra fast spawning is staggering though - the Nerubar spawn around Warsong Hold really did make it feel like an all out invasion.  I would clear an area and turn around to find everything had spawned behind me.  Extremely manic.  Good thing I'd respecced my lock into God mode.

Decided to do a quick Baron run for AD rep. Deathcharger drops on my second Baron kill ever. Even after being nerfed down from "fucking astronomical" recently, the drop rate is still one percent.

 Ohhhhh, I see.

It has to be because I wasn't really looking for it, and have no particular plans to ride it. (I'm too much of an RP dork to have my paladin go around on an undead horse.) I'm just thinking of the guy on the forums bitching about how he's killed the Baron like 300 times and how the hell can he not have gotten a deathcharger by now, and bla bla bla.

Yeah, I got one of those too. Between the horse, the piccolo, and a fair amount of gold from vendoring obsolete blues and junk, Stratholme hasn't been bad to me.

I didn't think our stringent capitalization standards applied to forum names. I imagine this comes as a surprise to apocrypha as well.

A lot of new sign-ups appeared unable to use the shift key on the first letter of their nic. That had a strong correlation with low quality first posts and ergo long-term survival.

Does anybody happen to have a copy of schild's first Waterthread post?

Oh, and I'm with Nebu on this - permaban the exploiters or it's a bunch of flowers.

They did get reset back to 70, and with a 3 day handicap. Heheh. I assume the next time they're caught doing this, they might be in for a longer ban.
I think it's pretty good of a slap. You lost your chance of being the first 80. Then you lost all that effort for nothing.

They do permaban exploiters, just not on a first offense.  I believe Blizzard follows a 'Two strikes and you're out' rule.  The first time you step out of line, you get a 3 day ban.  The second time is a permaban.

Paladin or no, I broke down and have been using my Baron mount more than my pally epic or my AV goat. Riding through Stormwind, some stranger sends me a tell.

Stranger: Lucky!
Me: Huh?
Stranger: The deathcharger.
Me: Oh yeah, I like it.
Stranger: They're hard to get.
Me: Funny part is, it dropped on my 2nd kill while farming AD rep.
Stranger: OMG I hate you!
Me: ^_^
