Can you set up boat-less trades/swaps with near neighbors through the markets?

For example, I desperately need cedar.  I set up a buy order at an absurdly low price (e.g., 50 cedar at 0.1 each).  One of my nice neighbors (Samwise? Viinahz?) sees the order and fills it, and then they set up a buy order for my rare (emeralds) at an absurdly low price (e.g., 50 emeralds at 0.1 each), and I fill it.

There's some extra cost involved (market fees), and it requires trust (I'll fill your buy order after you sell me your goods cheap), and it's limited to market ranges (e.g., 2 Nomes for my lvl 2 market).  BUT...it doesn't take any ships at all.

Any takers? I've got emeralds aplenty.

Torinankh, in Djedu in the Bastshem Nome (just north of where you are, I think).  I set up a buy order for 50 cedar at 0.1 each; if you can fill that and put up a similar buy order for emeralds, we can try trading that way.  If that doesn't work, I have 1 ship now.

Word to the wise: don't ever run out of bread. I spent myself to 0 bread through the market, and even though I had positive bread production, my peeps suddenly started working at 50% efficiency. That of course actually did fuck with my brad production, and shit started to go south in a hurry.

I did that too, and immediately pulled everyone out of all industries except the bakery. They made a bit more bread fairly quickly, and that let me put everyone back to work at full efficiency.

Alright, I know I've gotten a couple of messages from a couple of you guys for oil. I'm slow, but now I'm up and ready to go. I'm about to get my oil harvesting up to lvl 3 and start pumping this stuff out.

So, lemme know. My primary need at the moment would probably be jewelry. I know that's a luxury, but it's what's holding me back from lvl 4. No one sells the stuff. I can also trade perfume. I've been buying the other ingredient off the market.

You are in market range to me, do you wanna trade gold for bronze with purchase orders (saves tying up a ship).  We'll set up purchase orders of 50 unit blocks at 1 bread each ( I think you can only have one at a time for each resource) and renew it when the otherside fills the order.

I have decided on Perfume. If you need Perfume, give me kohl. For every, I guess, 3 kohl (since it costs 1 henna, 1 kohl, 1 bread, and an alotted worker each hours to make 1) will get you 1 perfume. I think this should be the base exchange for Bat Country for all advanced goods.

Also, I'll do the same for any other advanced good, 3 henna. Also, I will trade perfume 1:1 with any other advanced good. Thx. Production starts tomorrow. SHIP ME KOHL! I'll be buying out the marketplace in the area btw. Already did tonight. Yay bread.

I've placed buy orders for cedar and henna for 50 at 0.1 each, and if anyone fills those, I'll fill an equivalent order for emeralds.  (or, place a buy order for 50 emeralds at 0.1 and I'll fill it and will then place an equivalent order for your rare resource).  I have a level 4 market (for range 4), and have 1 ship (with 2 more on the way) I can use for longer-distance trades if needed.

Rasix (Rasixes) and I have already completed 1 round of sales using the market, and it was cheap and easy!  Just make sure you're in market range with your trading partner.
