Schilds completly retarded thread on the best song of the 90's did remind me that I really liked the Tonight Tonight video.  That doesn't excuse the fucking retardedness of the statement he made and how he's trying to justify it, but oh well  awesome, for real.  Figured I'd post it here a long with a bunch of other random 90's videos I was reminded of:

Smashing Pumpkins - Tonight Tonight.  Amazing video, and a wonderful song (I think).

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Otherside.  Same as above.  Does this count as a contender Schild (not sure if anybody mentioned it, only skimmed the thread for my sanity)?  Its pretty much exactly along the same lines as Tonight Tonight on everything you named.  Though I think the video came out in 2000, but the song was released with the Californication Album in the 90's.

Smashing Pumpkins - 1979.  Excellent job with potraying the nostalgia for the time.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Soul To Squeeze.  Just really like the video.  Compliments the song greatly.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication.  Ditto.

Beck - Where it's at.  Not really the most elebroate video, but I always found it amusing.

Beastie Boys - Intergalactic.  Because its awesome, and because its even more hilarious since I've lived in Japan and actually run around the station they filmed the video in.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Rollercoaster of Love.  Because we're on a 90's nostalgia trip.

The posting of some Rammstein earlier reminded me of this.  I saw this video when I went to Berlin back in my senior year of High School (to visit my sister who was studying abroad).  We turned on German MTV and this is what came on, and (being my first real time out of the country), I was like, wow, these people really are in fact fucking different from us.  Heh:

Rammstein - Sonne

Also a few these other Japanese videos I saw while getting wasted in Japan.  I'm pretty sure now that the bar tender at this bar I saw both these videos at was a member of the Yakuza.  For one, he owned a bar (of which I was told the Yakuza own almost all bars in Japan), had tatoos all over his arm (Tatoos are pretty forbidden in Japanese society, as Yakuza only have them), and he handed my much more partying friend a giant ball of grade A hash one night behind the bar (getting even shit pot for a decent price in Japan is somewhat hard, as they have stricter laws, and my friend said this turned out to be really high end hash, which would be off the wall expensive to just give out).  So maybe their are some fond memories involved, but I liked the videos and the music:

Cro-Magnon - Riding the Storm  (I really want to make an animated gif of the begining where evolution goes from the small critter to the pin ball player, as an avatar....)

Cro-Magnon - 逆襲のテーマ (I can't remember WTF that translated to)

Also, I just wanted to say thank you for this.  It was suprisingly well done (not to take away from any of the other videos you and everybody else posted, but I thought this one was hilarious, and cool at the same time).

Can I be lazy and just say "Every Radiohead video ever made after their first album" ? Because it's true.

Also:
"Land of Confusion" - Genesis.
"Hey Boy Hey Girl" - Chemical Brothers.
"Smack My Bitch Up" - The Prodigy. Make sure you watch this one to the very end.  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly? Oh, and NWS.

And for the "Well it's not the official video but it should have been" sweepstakes:
"Welcome to the Black Parade" - My Chemical Romance. No, reallyDRILLING AND MANLINESS

Well, its been almost exactly 4 years since this thread died.  Time to resurrect!

I'm really sad the vast majority of links in this thread are broken (you tube has really clamped down on music videos in the last few years, for some weird ass reason).  I'll try to update the ones I posted before to working links.  But here are some new cool videos I found:

Woodkid - Run Boy Run - Fun video I think is really neat.  I'm sure people can read all sorts of symbolism into it, but I just like it for what it is.

Justice - D.A.N.C.E. - I don't think this was posted in the thread before, but might have missed it.

The Darkness - I Believe In A Thing Called Love - Same thing for this one.

Fair warning, all the Skrillex stuff is very dub step ear rapey electronic, which I know a lot of people here don't like.  I don't mind it, and his music videos are pretty neat:

First Of The Year - This video is awesome yet creeps me the fuck out.

Skrillex - Ruffneck - Drug abusing Santa Claus fighting people.  Nuff said.

NSFW:
Odd Future "Rella" - This is one of the most random videos I've ever fucking seen, but I loved it.  If anything, you could make about 100 avatars and animated gifs out of it.  Also, again, NSFW.

Oh, and I almost forgot.  There's this Korean video I saw the other day.  Its really funny!  Have any of you seen it yet?

How did I miss this thread back then?! I am also noticing a distressing lack of Hurra Torpedo, but they don't really have music videos, so I guess that's ok.

There are plenty of  why so serious? Hungarian music videos. I'll try to find a few, but for now, have some late 90s: Ranbo 13
Found one! Johnny Gold aka. the star of grief links in Hungary - A mellizmon túl ("beyond my chest mucles"). You also aren't missing much due to not understanding the lyrics, btw.

Ok, updating Kyuss - Demon Cleaner

Mastodon - Deathbound - I love this video so much
Tom Waits - Tom Traubert's Blues - One of my favorite songs of all time
David Lee Roth - Mean Street - How does someone who can put out something that cool do something like this? Oh, Diamond Dave.

Some of my favorite guitar solos to play:
Led Zeppelin - Since I've Been Loving You I wish all the cats at the blues jams knew this one - Bonus Corrine version love her pipes
Allman Brothers Band - Jessica The 00s lineup is really my favorite, the 70s and 80s versions are too coked up
Funkadelic - Maggot Brain Play it like yo mama done died

This thread needs more:
Björk! , Plus it's animated by John Kricfalusi, so double the awesomeness.
Seeed - Aufstehn , the perfect Sunday morning song and Ceelo Green makes a cherry-on-top guest appearance.
Lykke Li - I'm good, I'm gone , seen her live a while back as well and it's one of those shows I'm pretty sure I'll never forget.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Aeroplane , pure youth sentiment. I'm not much of a RHCP fan really and this is definitely one of their kitchiest videos, but it just catapults me right back to my teens and makes me remember the nineties were fucking awesome  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?.

Television ftw. I think By the Way might now be my favorite RHCP, though BSSM is really the RHCP of the 90s. Never mind, BSSM is one of the best albums ever creatified.

I never understood the hate for Navarro's one album with them.  I enjoyed the heck out of it.  I can totally get it being a different direction than BSSM and earlier though and maybe that turned people off.  Personally I haven't really liked anything they've done since One Hot Minute - Californication and the ones afterwards were played to death on the radio and I just didn't get into them.

Thank you.  Had you not posted that, its a very real possibility that I may have gone my entire life without seeing that video.  And that is a very very sad thought (the other videos you posted are pretty hilarious as well).

I also enjoyed that album (as well as almost everything RHCP has ever done), so don't get the hate on that either.  But in any event, as I mentioned in my original (4 year old post), I want this to be a thread where we post cool music videos.  Not the thread where we argue over what music is good or shitty, and just post songs we like.  We have a music thread for that.

Yeah, Neo used to make some amusing cartoony music videos. Here's another - Persuaders (youtube link here - it's blocked in Hungary, may not be blocked in the US. No idea why, since it's the official channel of the band...)

Also, in order to reach the grief-link quota in this post, I am obligated to mention an example of terrible Hungarian pub music (dat CGI!)

I know, I know...no commentary. But Vai bugs me with his rockstar 'rhythm section sit and be boring behind me' nonsense that infuriated me as a bassist.

And to contribute...he had a couple decent tracks on his first albums, The Attitude Song and Viv Woman.

Though I was more into Yavinkie Amalchuck. Black Star Though also another egotistic douche that kept his rhythm section boring for the most part. And of course the Satch Boogie was huge.

Sorry, video thread! I always liked the vid for Pantera - This Love. That band singlehandedly saved the 90s metal scene imo. So glad I got to mosh with them live a couple times (once on that tour).
