Hello everyone,

There are currently 4 servers on which players are experiencing high wait times. All other servers currently have no queue at this time. Players are strongly cautioned against starting their adventures here if they can play elsewhere. All four of these servers are at the maximum population cap possible.

The servers are:

Volkmar
Skull Throne
Badlands
Dark Crag

Thank you for your cooperation. Have fun!

 awesome, for real

I like the poplation of our server, except for the fact we seem to have gotten a huge influx of horrible Order players. I have never seen such crappy play in the scenarios as I did yesterday, it was downright disheartening.

We just need a lot of tanks - people are whining about Chosen and Black Orcs, but that's only because they have a LOT of them.

If we had a comparable amount of healers and tanks, it would be a non-issue.

This...  We ran against a team in Tier 2 that was literally 6 tanks, 5 healers and a single DPS.  Needless to say we got face-stomped.

Tank dps is a tad out of whack in my opinon.  Their survivability - dps tradeoff still isn't balanced.

I'm on Volkmar and Badlands, both full.  Those are the servers the large casual and mature guild I'm in picked and could actually be why they are full.

Yeah - I've switched to a Tank main for this reason. In the T1 stuntie scenario yesterday we had 6 Runepriests, 3 engineers and an immigrant White Lion. They had 5 tanks, 2 nukers and a couple healers. We got raped.

Speaking of marketing, we're out of milk.

Went 5-2 in Gates of Ekrund last night, if that helps give people some hope.  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

Really with no matching system at all, anyone running scenarios solo or in tiny groups on either side can probably expect to lose at least a few more than they win overall.

Seems that black orcs have a healing exploit. I wondered how some of them where healing when no one else was around. I just always thought there was a healer with a really good hiding place.

Maybe I'm playing wrong but my IronBreaker met up with a Shaman and my p*ss poor dps didn't stop him one bit from taking me down with like 3 or 4 casts of something. Granted my RunePriest partner was off healing someone else, but still. I was hoping to get him down at least a little bit.

Tanks seem to have always pushed everyones shit in (according to the beta forums).

Maybe it's Mythic overreacting to how gimped tanks were in DAoC?

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

Gimped at release, yes.  Gimped in today's DAoC? No.

Mythic realized that people like to play high dps, high survivability classes.  Making tanks overpowered seems to be good marketing sense.

Hmmm... That would explain a 15 minute fight I had with a Black Orc who kept healing up all the damage I was doing to him.

would that be OTG?

my guild picked volk:  and as a non- pre-order guy, i am less than happy about their choice.

Yeah OTG.  The queue times have been going down somewhat.  CE launch the queue was an hour and a half, then the next day there was no queue because they raised the caps.  Yesterday there was a half hour queue with the SE headstart, we'll see what the queue is like tonight...

I have to install a mod because there is a bug which causes the game to stutter in large guilds because every time a person logs on/off or joins it rebuilds the entire roster.

I experienced something like this for the first time today - yesterday I was having closely fought fights against Black Orcs. My guess is that the word is spreading.

Apparently you just create an interface folder in the warhammer root, then an AddOns in interface and drop the folder in.  Same as WoW.

I dunno if it's an exploit, but my 'Da Toughest' sometimes does a crazy amount of healing. I've had scenarios where I had almost as much healing as I did dmg and I sure wasn't doing anything intentional with my warcry, I just applied it when I entered the scenario and each time I died.

The healing you get from bolster counts towards your total also so if you were dying a lot and you were fairly low level your heal total would be pretty high.

I just have to say that shit is broken if you consider tanking hero bosses in PQs you can simply apply and reapply that buff to give unlimited health pots. Autoattack to victory imo. I'm definitely testing this out when I get my box today.

Super duper uber cool way to go:

Quote
(3) Finally, we have some even better news for a large number of our players. Since we launched the Head Start program, we have told people that after launch we would allow them to move characters from a high population server to a low population server free of charge. Tomorrow morning, we will begin a process to essentially clone (who says you can’t mix sci-fi and fantasy) all character, Auction House and guild information of several of our high population servers to brand new servers. Players and guilds can choose which server (old, new or both!) they wish to play on. Nobody’s characters will be deleted and because they are being copied to clean servers, everyone gets to keep their names and their guild names. As far as we know nobody has done this before in the MMORPG industry and we are proud to be the first to offer this to our players. So, it is up to you, whether you are just an individual player or guild to stay on the existing server or to move to the new server. Here are the servers that are being moved and the names of their clones.

Phoenix Throne => White Tower
Skull Throne => Tower of Doom
Volkmar => Magnus
Badlands => Mordheim
Dark Crag => Eerie Downs

Once again we have shown our commitment to make WAR the best MMORPG on the market both through our commitment to game development and customer service.

I like that idea - doesn't make either server the rump - so should split somewhat nicely.  With the way they rolled the servers out they've got to expect that those 4 problem servers will just steamroll as regular launch players join up with their CE & SE buddies.

Hopefully they're also thinking ahead to the games twilight (2 months tops!) and have a solution planed out to consolidate servers that is a bit more elegant than DAOC's clustering.  (ie no housing and everyone has to move to a new server and pick new names)

Well, predictably, no one took them up on the clone offer.  Volkmar just crashed completely and being launch day it has queues.  If they hadn't have done their ridiculous phased rollout this wouldn't have happened.  They also put a warning up when you try to choose Volkmar that you shouldn't awesome, for real.
