They did it an hour early, FYI.

Is this just for the CE editions so far? Getting an authentication error too, I ordered standard edition.

Right. There are three starts. CE head start (14th), Regular head start (16th), Everyone else start (18th).
I am Regular hHead start, so it'll be the 16th for me. The "authentication error" was misleading. Meh!

P.S: 16th, is the day Age of Conan launches the PvP patch.  awesome, for real

200 of 316 in queue to login right now (and that's order), says I have over an hour...

I despise the way this is being rolled out.

Edit: My estimated time to log in is going up now, not down.

How does this CE work? I have the CE headstart code logged onto my account, but I'm not sure what client I'm supposed to have. Is there something I'm supposed to download? Can anybody give me a simple checklist on how to get things rolling with the headstart thing? The help is much appreciated.

If you have been playing the closed or open beta you can just use that.  There wasn't even a patch between yesterday and today's launch.

If you werent in beta you were supposed to download the client from fiileplanet.  At this point though you might as well wait for your box because you wont get it downloaded in time for any early launch.

Motherfucking crashed to desktop after only getting an hour or so in and am now in another queue, 296/296.  I have spent more time in queues than playing God damn it.

Those queues are unacceptable. It's the COLLECTOR'S EDITION. You know, that thing where only a small number were made and Mythic knows exactly how many to plan for?

I love the game but if I log in Tuesday only to face three hour queues because Mythic screwed the pooch on server capacity I'm going to be pissed off.

According to some post on the official unofficial forums, the CE servers are temporarily set to a 1/3 normal maximum capacity for some vague, undefined reason.

The 1/3rd thing is part of their grand, flawed, asinine plan to try and engineer populations instead of taking the simplest, best, most reasonable action to open all the servers.

Here is the plan.  I apologize for the vault link but they also made the retarded decision to not have official forums much like the spectacular failures Vanguard, Tabula Rasa and so on.

Hm, I dunno how I feel about that. I guess it does theoretically stop us from ending up with Bat Country picking a server and it being completely full before the Tuesday head start even rolls around?

Sure it does... if you know ahead of time how many people are intending to roll on your server and how many people have picked it on their guild message boards. All reports are that there are queues on ALL of the servers to varying degrees. It's not as though you know if the cap is, say, 5000 and you're number 5100 or 5300. You just know you have a queue.

I've logged on several times today and there have only been queues on like three servers generally.  Maybe there was some magical time of day when everything was full, but not even close from what I've seen.  I think people are mostly bitching because skull throne is queued straight to hell, but I don't see what more servers would have done about that.

Did you enter your CE headstart key? It's a separate key from the beta access and item-unlock keys.  I got all 3 when I'd originally preordered WAR from Amazon.

Not that I know of, and supposedly you'll last until the 20th now without a box due to an Amazon fuckup.

FYI anyone waiting on the outside.

The servers are running well and its playing... polished  why so serious?

So far ALT-Tab bug bit me once on loading, the warband panels in scenario crap, 2 bugged pathing mobs, one scenario window disappeared when an npc hit me. That's all the "issues" I had so far in 7hrs of playing, pretty impressive even if its a soft launch.

The only bug I've had is with windowed mode. I have two monitors and played all of beta with the client windowed so I could have an internet window open in another screen. Sometime in the last week, my windowed client started stretching about 1/3rd of the way into my other monitor so I had to turn it off. It's quite annoying.

Forgive me if this sounds like the sort of thing a tech support guy would patronizingly suggest, but the resolution setting in game is the same as your current resolution, right?

Anyone know what time they'll be opening for SE people? The optimistic part of me is hoping for midnight but the rest of me says 'not a chance'.

perhaps so that people who are not CE can join the rest of their guild on a server when it goes live instead of it already being at max capacity.

speaking of which anyone know what they are targetting as a server pop cap?

I'll check. It was, and I'm using my beta client so it shouldn't have changed, but it's quite possible that one of the patches since I last played before Headstart reset my resolutions.

So far mythic has been really really good about giving long-ish estimates for downtime and then finishing ahead of schedule rather than stringing people along with ever-expanding schedules.  Course, we'll see if that continues.
