First two eps were meh.  I didn't like
But the third episode was better.  I like ALL the characters, which is rare in a TV show.

I'm a huge Chuck fan but I was sort of iffy on the first two episodes. However, Episode 3 was definitely good and the promos for 4 look good also. My wife had a brief moment at the end of Episode 3 where:

Thankfully the previews shot down that theory pretty quickly but it was still kind of a jarring moment because I wasn't sure what Sarah had said.

it was like Chuck's two worlds collided and he paid the price.

I think that this might be the theme that they are going for this season. Slowly more people from his private life get drawn into his spy business and this puts them in danger (or get's them killed).

I think it'd be a cool way to deal with things. I liked how they played with Awesome basically putting the team in danger because he thought this spy stuff was cool. I am also glad that it appears they are aiming for a seasonal story arc with this "Ring" group. I think it'll help deal with the "spy adventure of the week" syndrome that Chuck is having.

I think you're exactly right.  It would be really good to see a whole season of them vs. the Ring.  Casey once again got some cool lines like "Good thing I was a marine!"  or somesuch.

Chuck on Sunday night did very well in the ratings, hopefully they will hold fast on Monday night vs. House and CBS's comedies.  NBC has very few competitive shows, hopefully they will keep Chuck around though I'd like it moved to some other night.

Chuck is succeeding to the extent it is almost in spite of NBC. Honestly Chuck being pushed back to the spring because of the lost hour with Leno is one reason I've been praying for Leno to fail.

Last night's episode was really good with Stone Cold Steve Austin and Kristin Kreuk, and it appears that she may be a new regular on the show.

I approve.  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?  awesome, for real

Yes it was a good episode.  I like the new additions to the cast but missed Capt. Awesome and Chuck's sister.  Best show NBC has which isn't saying much.

Great eppy indeed, the star of the episode was Adam Baldwin though. I still want to call him Jane.

You could call him Jane if Chuck wasn't better than Firefly in every conceivable way.

As someone who liked Smallville and thought Kreuk was the weakest link in it, I'm actually pretty upset she just invaded another one of my favorite shows.

I didn't really have a problem with her as an actress I just got horribly tired of the eternal Lana-angst.

I was surprised to find I was glad to see her walk in the store, she should shake up the Nerd Herd and make for some of the funnay.  But all these new characters mean Chuck's sis and Awesome will be on less, which I don't care for.

OH and what's up with the car commercials?  Why is a married couple going on vacation with her brothers friend?  Where is Chuck?  Is he OK???

If you missed and/or forgot the first commercial in the series, it does make little sense.  They are supposed to be on their way to the Vancouver Olympics.  Morgan is the one with the tickets.  So, they are bringing him along for the tickets.  Not sure where Chuck is supposed to be through.

Fucking hiatus until the olympics? Also, Brandon Routh is just a godawful unlikable yutz. Probably has to do with him being incapable of delivering a line well, though that's not particularly fair given Casey and Chuck.

Seriously though, an entire season built around hero/savior relationships. GTFO. Lazy writing.

Nothing, I just liked that they made a Superman joke in an episode featuring the guy who played Superman in the last movie, and his girlfriend from the tv show.

Routh looks and acts like a Robot dressed as Clark Kent. Which I find distracting.

On the one hand they don't include every cast member in every episodes due to budget cuts on the other hand they waste it on guest stars.

Casey and Morgan teaming up to bring order to the Buy More? Hilarious. Watching Brandon Routh talking like. a. fucking. robot. with respiratory problems not so much.

Also I'm still pissed off about the complete reset of every development over the last two seasons.

I like the direction they're going with Morgen. Chuck is an awesome character but between keeping secrets because of his CIA gig and just taking the woman that Morgen had a thing for he is starting to have a bad effect on his best friend.

I was kind of disappointed that Ellie and Morgen caught Chuck and Hannah and so now they're apparently giving up on the sneaking around to find out what Chuck's up to. I thought that was a fun element and right or wrong I'd love for Morgen at least to find out what's going on. That and I kept waiting for Awesome to see Ellie sneaking into Morgen's apartment and coming to the conclusion that they were having an affair.

Am I the only one who keeps waiting to find out that Hannah is a Ring agent or something? Maybe it's too obvious but she goes from jet-setting computer guru (who got fired admittedly) to working in a Buy More and being told she's not ready for installs?

No, she's either a ring agent or a plant by the obviously evil and traitorous Shaw. Lana handles Chuck, Shaw handles Sarah, no one handles Jane - and then when Shaw twirls his moustache later on while he gloats about leaving the ring to form an even more powerful amoral group the "team" will be in no shape to stop him.

I have my own pet theory about Shaw. I'll spoiler it even though it's not technically a spoiler since it's just a total random guess.

So I just finished watching Season 1 of this. I enjoyed it, pretty funny stuff. Has kind of a Moonlighting-for-nerds thing going on.

This. I thought he was ok in Superman, but really, he just looks terrible. He's not good looking, he can't act, and his character is the worst part of this season because of the actor. I do like the darker direction - we get to see Chuck being a badass at times, but we're also seeing him dealing with the consequences. He can't have a regular relationship, he can't have a relationship with Sarah, and his family is in danger. That's setup for some good drama.

Shame Kreuk seems to have left the show, it was unexpected and then made sense.  Slowly Chuck's spy games are ruining his life, just like Sarah predicted.  Buy More crew finally realized that Chuck is pulling some serious tail.  But as much as they give me a chuckle, they are feeling more and more unnecessary.

I'm not buying the Sarah/Shaw romance, maybe it's because Routh plays every scene with his eyes bugged out.  I feel for the guy, he was one of the least objectionable things about Superman Returns, but he needs to pull it together.

But man, is this show firing on all cylinders.  Casey is a hoot as always and Chuck's sis and Capt. Awesome are back in.
