The Save Chuck shit seems marketing driven. Pretty sure we were guaranteed a new season right when it cropped up. In other words, it's horseshit and we'll be getting more.
So you are saying that Twitter does work?

Looks like Chuck was indeed renewed. It'll be interesting to see what they do to cut costs. My guess is lose Buy More staff. That's not really a guess though, I mean, that's how the season ended. And thank god for that. Edit: In other news...

I thought the Buy-more crew was one of the better aspects of the show. But yeah, going from where they left off, it WILL be interesting to see where they go from here. I am not sure that it will be as good.

I'll miss the Buy More crew. I'm glad that Chuck got picked up again, but sad it was only for 13 episodes. They need a full season pick-up.

Getting rid of the Buy More lets them save on sets, and all other sorts of stuff, and frees Chuck up to become the real super-spy incompetent "Get Smart" badass they've built him up to be.

I'm glad it's back but the scheduled slot is terrible.
Midseason 2010, which means no new episodes for nearly a year. (Chuck starts after the Winter Olympics in March). 8 pm timeslot on mondays vs. 24 on Fox, the CBS comedy block and Dancing with the stars. 3rd season will be last.

I thought I read they were moving it to the traditional Sci Fi graveyard: Friday.

Reports I've seen say Mondays as well. Also, apparently it's being brought back because of "an innovative advertising partnership with Subway", which presumably means, among other things, Sarah will be working there instead of Orange Orange.

According to this link I stole from Raph's facebook, yep that's the case. Ed: Also, looks like Earl is dead. Replacing it with Weekend update as a lead-in to that awful Puller show? Yeah comedy Thrursdays on NBC will soon be dead, too.

Or all of them will be running a subway. Cuts down on locations and probably costs nothing. I'm OK with Subway as the front.

Perhaps they'll change the plot slightly, and just have them running the Subway, get rid of all that expensive spy-type stuff.

get rid of all that expensive spy-type stuff. That's not particularly likely. They'd just have it in the back room of a subway.

They kinda lessened the connection between Chuck and the Buy More this season. It was almost like watching two different, but connected shows.

Ooo! Ooo! I know! Have Chuck team up with Jared for an episode! Leverage the synergies! Yeah I should be a TV exec.

I believe they didn't do those super dvr numbers last year, I imagine Chuck will benefit greatly from DVR views. It's nice that NBS realizes it's a good show though, especially compared to the shit they have this year.

Chuck will return on Sunday, January 10 at 9 with two episodes back to back. 3rd episode will air in the series' old timeslot at 8 on monday the 11th. In other great news NBC has ordered 6 additional episodes bringing the number of Chuck episodes to 19 from the original 13.
It's great that Chuck returns sooner than originally planned, it's bad however since Chuck will be preempted during the Winter Olympics and the big promotional campaign that NBC had planned for Chuck during the Olympics will be after the season has already started.

Very glad Chuck's coming back. They are heavily promoting it too. Also glad it's going to Monday @8. I don't care for CBS's first two sitcoms so I can watch Chuck then switch over to 2.5 Men and BBT. That's some good TV right there.

I read some stuff saying that most people thought that the first 2 episodes were underwhelming, but that it picked up afterwards.

Yea, didn't care for either episode.
The end of the first episode was money though.
I think it's ridiculous that they tied the goddamn intersect into his feelings. Motherfucker is going to be Echo from Dollhouse. Whedon is the LAST person these guys should be taking cues from.

tied the goddamn intersect into his feelings I got the feeling that he will get his shit sorted out and that will be less of an issue as the episodes go on. It looks like they may go with the one flash at a time which would be better than the chuck superspy extreme.

I can't think of a single TV series where resolving the sexual tension between protagonists turned out well for more than a short while.

The Office! It's kind of odd, they totally change the series and then revert it back to how it was initially. The only changes seem to be super powerz0rz and a change of roommates.

Oh good example, although I think I did like the show better before they were dating much less actually married. Still, on Cheers and Moonlighting letting the characters finally get together was a bad idea. Cheers was saved by the constant break-ups and then having Diane leave the show but Moonlighting never recovered once the tension between Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis was gone.

I can't think of a single TV series where resolving the sexual tension between protagonists turned out well for more than a short while This always comes down to writing. Most writers are hacks and can only make funny out of the awkward sexual tension. Decent writing will trump this any day. My issue with this was that it appeared that the writers were taking Chuck & Sarah down a certain (and logical) path and then got cold feet and decided to keep the status quo by resetting the relationship. This felt very forced and just plain dumb.

I agree. They reset the relationship way too quickly and it all happened off-screen. It would have been better to keep it for a few episodes at least and have things gradually fall apart.

Bah were the first two episodes bad. The showed a really decent character progressionin season two. Everybody seemed to be growing in some sorts. Emotionally, or simply growing up. Now they hit the great reset button and everything is back to square one. That's some lazy writing.

I wanted a more mature chuck, more in control of his emotions and making more common sense decisions. More appropriate to how they left his character off at the end of season one. I mean come on, didn't he learn anything on all of those ops?
