I hit level cap (45) on a Destroyer the other day. This game hooked me in a way Tera never did, so there's that I guess. The rate at which they push out the rest of the content to level 50 will be key, but I am enjoying the costume hunt and the structured arena PvP so far.
How does the structured PvP compare to Warhammer's 1st arena?

This hooked me enough that I spent real money on a 30 day sub. Of course, the servers tonight keep crashing.. I'm playing a Forcemaster on Soha.

ya um the servers went down for 8ish hours last night this morn and crashed again to night. The game is fun and a lot of people are playing but well see. There's not any info coming from NCSoft so lets watch how they handle it.

For all the MMO's they've produced and ran NCSoft sure hasn't learned a lot.

A nation consists of its laws. A nation does not consist of its situation at a given time. If an individual's morals are situational, then that individual is without morals. If a nation's laws are situational, that nation has no laws, and soon isn't a nation.

They've apparently learned how to keep MMOG players waiting.  why so serious?

Structured PvP is only 1v1. Think of this as a Tekken lite MMORPG.

I thought there was 3v3, too?  I've only done the 1v1 so far and did better than I thought I would going 4-2 so far with 4 wins in a row.

3v3 is really cool, but it's actually 1v1 WWF style. Meaning, it's a tag team wrestling match. 1v1, where the other party members can join in for 5 seconds combos (like in Marvel vs Capcom) on a cooldown, and then have their own 1v1 match when the first one ends. Team with most round wins gets the match. So, 3v3 is basically (1v1)x3.

The first big patch is scheduled for 10 Feb.  It includes some new dungeons, pvp pre-season and 5 Hongmoon levels.  The Hongmoon levels will give you 5 more skill points to use but the level cap will still be 45 for now.  No Warlock, though. Heartbreak  That's coming in a future patch.  They seem pretty serious about catching NA/EU players up to speed with the Asian versions as quick as possible.

Well, I gotta say the gold spam is making this game unplayable the last 2 days. You gotta run a lvl 20 dungeon a lotta times to upgrade your weapon (witch is a large part of what this games about). And other things but weapon is the biggie. And the gold spam is so aggressive that you have no hope of joining a group. So well see. Ncsoft is not known for a lot of activity. Ill log in daily but if theres not a lot of change then the gold spammers killed this game. Ive been playing Tera actually.

Ok, I typed this and logged in. All better. Ran the dungion didnt get my drop but the spammers that made the game unplayable were gone. Not that there were no spammers but you could function.

Gold spam? Just turn off the faction and LFG chat. To get a group, go to the party finder interface, click on the dungeon you like and join open groups from there. So super easy. Not really sure what you are talking about. Gold spammers were annoying until I turned off the two chats they invaded. After that, I forgot they existed.

Spammers can spam the cross-server dungeon party finder channel. However you can still block them there so it's not a huge deal.

There is no reason to ever have to use the actual chat channels in the cross-server dungeon finder. Everything in it is completely automated if you hit a button.

There's a level restriction to the chat channels in Tera.  I don't think there is one in Blade and Soul.

Also Tera has an official in-game way to convert real money into in-game currency. That cuts down a lot on the need to go to a 3rd party for currency.

Ive been playing Tera now a few days and its just more fun. The cock block at 20 in b&s is no joy. Been leveling an gunner and a thrasher in Tera and its smooth sailing. I know I was a fan boy for B&S but that's how I see it.

They've been getting the gold spam under control in the past couple of days in BnS, though yesterday perhaps went one step too far and in the process apparently killed everyone's ability to say anything except in local. No clue if that's intended  why so serious?

For joining groups I find the spam to be non-issue: you either use the pillar outside dungeon, which will show you all groups on your server looking for members for this specific dungeon, updates automatically and only requires you to click 'join' button to send the request to join, or you hit the cross-server lookup which moves you to a room where you hit "looking for party" button and it will put you automatically in a group looking for members for selected dungeon. You literally never need to read the advertisement in the grouping channel, ever.

That said yeah, Tera team was considerably more effective at keeping the gold spam to minimum, even at launch.

It doesn't help that gold is very valuable and extremely hard to come by for much of the game, which just adds fuel to the spammers' fire.

Yes, after getting through the extended tutorial and hitting level 20 on my Kung-Fu Master I had enough money at that point buy 1 dumpling, which is the cheapest NPC vendor food item in the game.

Well, to be fair, you start to acquire food and potions at much faster rate around 20+.  I have about 200 of each in my inventory at 43, and I haven't been stingy with their use.  You start to acquire money faster in your mid 30's (I had 12-13g recently until I spent some on the AH) but I agree until then it's hard to earn esp. if you are f2p because money doesn't drop from mobs if you don't have premium status. Ohhhhh, I see.

The NPC prices in the game are pretty dumb in general (and it doesn't help the mobs apparently won't drop any money if you are non-premium player ACK!)  but if you take cooking as profession it costs something like 5 copper per dumpling, so there's that.

While at it, having large part of game economy hinge on low rate drop (viridian poisons which have chance to drop from one l.15 instance boss and are used to craft component used in all sort of shit, from keys to unsealing charms) is nothing short of hilarious.

Oddly enough Viridian Poison is one of the things you can buy in the store.

You can also rez players of the opposing faction. So if they're afk you can rez them, kill them, repeat ad infinitum until they come back from afk.

I have to wonder what they were thinking when they put the instadeath fire fields in the dungeons, that pop up when boss encounter is started, a short distance in front of said encounter. I mean, I can sort-of see they are supposed to prevent corpse runs and getting the fights won this way, but #1 just regular, not killing barrier would do this task just as well and #2 because 90% of people in dungeons are idiots who couldn't pay attention to the map if their fucking life depended on it, literally 10 times out of 10 this results in some moron rushing in and killing half the team trailing behind in the process with these fires, then taking forever to kill the boss with 1-2 people actually in the room, or dying after like 5 mins of wasting everyone's time. swamp poop
