Yeah, posting about a German Serial Killer who's clearly taking his rage out on non-humans tends to do that.

I suppose we should be thankful he hasn't moved on up tho.  Sounds like one bug-crazy fucker.

I don't think Godwin's law applies to threads about Germans.

Ok. I suggest they start looking for smarmy looking 8-15 year olds. I can't imagine police out in rural Germany are much better than the Super Troopers during happy hour though.

Also, killing bunnies doesn't make you a serial killer. It makes you strange for sure. But a serial killer? Pfffffffft. Sensationalism.

Nope, there's a proven link about torturing animals and serial killers.  Plus 'serial killer' implies there's a pattern or ritual to each killing that links each one together.  The way the rabbits are being killed and left to be discovered is a good indication of a guy who's likely to move up to humans at some point. He just hasn't had the opportunity or gotten over the thrill of the bunnies yet.

The past cannot be changed. The future is yet within your power.

I know there's a proven link between the two. But he hasn't killed a human, as far as they know yet, as such calling him a serial killer is simply not correct. Also, it doesn't suggest there's a pattern or ritual so much as the killing of one person/victim at a time (as opposed to mass murderer). And I don't think they're going to change the definition of serial killer to include bunnies any time soon. Though PETA would fucking love that. (Edit: Just so we don't get into a semantic pissing fight, yes, way more often than not, serial killers exhibit ritualism or some sort of pattern through their killings, but it's not necessarily part of the classical definition. it concerns the psychology of a serial killer more than the actual definition of the word. For example, someone could throw darts at a calendar, phone book, and get a gun and go a killing - that would make them a serial killer- and short of the dart throwing, which was randomly chosen - there's no ritual or pattern behind it. Not a discernible one at least - and it would still make them a serial killer).

Read the article a couple times, I'm just going to assume they should be looking for a kid or young teen who was beaten as a smaller child and has chosen something as defenseless as he was.

Couldn't help but giggle at the name 'Rabbit Ripper' either. /snort. Also, what's up with all these germans owning bunnies? That's strange on its own.

I was thinking probably maybe. But I suspect we're missing a key fact here - and if I had a world almanac I might be able to look it up. I would betcha the area is known for rabbit stew or something. And this guy is killing dinner. Oh man, that would be a gas.

But why take their heads and drain their blood? That's just whacked.

As much as I am tempted to sneer at this, I also wonder if we're not seeing a young psychopath in the making here. It's one of two things IMO:

1) A gruesome prank
2) A future serial killer in training

I'm thinking 2, personally. Even if it's 1, 2 isn't far behind.

Beyond that, I keep thinking that it was such a waste of food! Could have made some tasty bunny burgers!

I blame MMOGs. He is clearly trying to level up and right now searching for a questgiver taking his rabbit heads.

Jokes aside, thats really bad. People in that area already hide their rabbits in sheds and underground to avoid the killer.

Lets see the possible progression...

Rabbits -> Hobbits -> Humans

Or

Rabbits -> Furries -> Humans

Or even

Rabbits -> Hobbits -> Furries -> MMPORG players -> MMPORG Devs -> LARPers -> The people that do voice acting for cartoons -> Humans
