1. You make more guys by dropping cash :)  Bort has been giving out 100FP as a season ending bonus, but that's it for the freebies.
2. Here's the roster.  Anything that says CPU should be replaced.  I've signed non-f13 players to back up positions at QB, HB, OG, OT, and DT.  Desperate for 2 CBs and 1 SS.
3. The Bible

I'm sure one of the other f13'ers who is not yet on the team would love to make a backup for any of the spots you are desperate for 2CBs and 1SS.  But, if not, I still have the SS I made on a CPU team, if you want him, if not that is fine too, he'll be starting on the D league team.

In case you need him:

Holler when you are level 7-8, otherwise I'm afraid you'll get run over / torched by level 10-14 players.

Watching that game on the play-by-play was way more fun than reading one line of text at a time should be. This thing is fucking awesome.

Also, DING!  awesome, for real I definitely have to work on being able to break tackles.

It is like crack. I read EVERY line for this game, since it was our dudes and not some randoms slapped together on a D league team. Very cool.

That game would have been a lot worse without our D Line (Bruce Smith) and those DB's.

On offense, it seemed like we threw a lot in 2-receiver sets. Weren't we working on a more run-oriented game? I don't know if that's just the way the CPU picks the plays or what. My receiver seemed to always do best at short curl routes and in the slot on 3-receiver sets.

The runs during the first series failed, so the Sim abandoned it.  They worked better on our first series of the 2nd half, and we started running more.  I mentioned it on the forum there, but depending on the game we can adjust how schizo the Sim gets when your original plan appears to be failing.

Did I do something wrong on my settings, or was this just the way our D was set up? My ROLB seemed to be giving up a lot underneath, and also dropping back a LOT on pass plays.

Forgive me if I am way offbase; I love the concept of this game/sim, but Hockey is the sport I really know.

This is the first game where I actually know what the game plan was, and I think I saw some patterns.  What you are describing defensively is the "Middle Pass Defense".   The "Middle Pass Offense" is the 3 WR Set.  "Long Offense" is 5 WR, Short is 2 WR, TE, FB.

By the end of season 3 it's supposed to be much more complicated than that.

Sauced,

never ever use the "Automatically Adjust In-Game Strategy to What's Working and away from What's Not Working?" option.
That's the best way to NOT get a hold of your team.
First, it has been proven that it makes you lose 75% of the time. Second, seriously, you won't get an idea of what your team is good or not at with the thing /on. Just a suggestion.

That said, good game for an absolute debut! And yes, when you play with people you know the game shines and make you want to invest more money somehow. Good thing you can't boost more than 3 levels each year.

Haha, it's fun having a player of yours really rip it up.  I'll admit that some of his tackles were due to semi-poor coverage, but at the least he never let the WR get any YAC...

I was watching the replays and one of the tipped passes I got probably stole an interception from Nightingale, since he was RIGHT there as well.

Please watch your stamina! I'm sorry I didn't point this out yesterday, but even at Relaxed some of you will be playing below 100% tomorrow. Worst things have happened, I know.

But if you are currently at a Stamina level where +9 stamina will leave you at less than 95% or so please switch to Relaxed for tonight's training.

I've already tweaked down the "auto-adjust" feature to almost nothing, and am trying to scout out tomorrow's game.

Ok, major emergency.

Work figured out that GLB is a game.  SurfControl has now blocked it.  This is unacceptable as this requires me to work more and play less.

I need a way around SurfControl on a networked PC running Windows XP with no admin control.

Damn, IT.

Ok, I figured out the IP address.  http://216.245.193.2

If you are going into the game with low stamina, playing on hard will just get you on the bench faster.  I've got the settings tweaked down to 45 as a default, and am setting some of the specific positions at different levels based on the 1st game.

Go relaxed training on both tonight.  Murdoc MacReady has a good backup and we just brought in a 4th DE, so Freddie can go full out when he's in since he's only backing up one side.

Started a FS and an SS. My SS kicked ass in his first game (1 interception, 2 good tackles) for being a level 1.

Gonna recreate my FS as something offensive, since the SS has a much better defensive setup. Maybe in a season or two I can play with teh big boyz!

I think to min/max I needed to really pump the fuck outta Stamina on all my players, since who gives a fuck about playing well versus playing at all in the cpu d-league.  I'm working it up via training now.

You really just need enough stamina to be able to play your share of the snaps. The CPU strategy is designed to get everyone mostly equal play in the D-leagues, or so I have been told. Mid 20s should be plenty. You will eventually need more, but that should carry you through the first few levels.

There is a post here that breaks down about where stamina should be for each position/level. Lots of other goodies in it too.

I'm pretty sure I've contacted every free agent and CPU team CB there is to no avail.  Looks like some young F13 developmental players might be getting the call sooner rather than later!  SS is still a need as well.

Holy fuck. Watch our last game. We were completely outplayed. Every pass thrown to my guy not only was I covered like a blanket, EVERYBODY was. The CB facing off against me when I was in the slot was level 17, their FB was level 15. That game was a case of teh gank. We were a JV level team against the NFL or damn close. The fact that many of their top players also had the last name Felsing leads me to believe we got catassed.

Bort seems to be working on it now. I don't think he understands mmogtards and is expecting everyone to play nice pretend football. But he's learning. And suprise, the catassii are bitching about Bort pointing out that having teams way too high level is BAD.

Fucking losers.

But honestly, it is a tough thing and voila, the shittiness of level-based pvp enters football. Either we keep all our guys in a tight level spread or eventually it will bite us. Or keep the level spread open and get your ass handed to you by a guy who owns a team full of his own catassed players.

Cool game, but I think this is the glaring flaw (including related issues like gutting etc).

edit Loss 0-48. WTF.

Wait, I'm not done. I don't mind getting beat fairly, but this was bullshit.

0-48. We had 85.5 TOTAL yds on offense (to their 525.5). We had a whopping 18 rushing yds and a stunning 67.5 passing yds.

I was the only highlighted player from our team, because of the massive 260 return yards on the EIGHT kickoffs I ran back (out of 9 total our team returned).

I'm glad to hear that the dev is aware of this issue. I don't specifically mind the fact that we lost to a team like that, since it's perfectly fine according to the rules - but it just seemed odd to me that anyone who has nothing better to spend money on can offload $ for FP and boost his team way out of the average level of the league they are playing in.
