Sauced, I accepted the trade. Thanks for that and yay I'm in!

Question: is the actual name of the team the one you got by default or it's a personal choice? Aren't we going for Bat Country or something f13-ish after all?

I am cleaning the attic and turned out we have too many kickers/punters which are going on the Trading Block at the speed of light.

K - Demios Pantegana (lev. 7)

SA: +2 +2 +3

P- Frank Dal Cigno (lev. 11) - http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=116325

Strength: 34.41 Blocking: 8
Speed: 11.69 Tackling: 7
Agility: 11.69 Throwing: 11.69

You can have them for a symbolic 15k plus whatever CPU player you like to even the minimum deal thing (I'll cut them as soon as they land in Odessa anyway), but given that the Chachapoyas already has human staters in those positions there's probably no need for this two fuckers. Especially since injuries aren't in yet apparently.

The games do actually start on Wednesday?

Yup.  We'll play either Wed. or Thurs.

DURRR.  We'll play either Thurs. or Fri.  Wed is when season tickets are processed and schedules are generated.

We're all set *starter* wise, and I've started bringing in the 2nd string with a level 9 RB to help carry the load offensively.

Read the front page change to XP.  Please wait to boost *over level 10* until we find out what "Max Level" our league is intended to be.  Right now I think it'll wind up as 20, maaaaybe 15, but I'd hate to see anyone penalized to trying to help the team.

Straz-
As far as spending your FPs- I would suggest making a couple of players and letting them play in the D league most of this season to get experience. Boosting at really low levels is really a waste of FPs (and money); you will level like every couple of games at first, so all you gain is a week or two. Once you get to level 8 (where you get to buy new equipment at 2.5k per), then you should try to move you players to a human controlled team. We definitely need backups at almost every position, so feel free to make anything at this point.

That's actually a good strategy I think.  If you start the season on a D league team, you'll get a lot of snaps at first (hence Olaf's level 12), and will start to dwindle a bit as the season progresses.  Won't necessarily have to wait for level 8, but somewhere in the 6-8 area a player could definitely fill a backup role and play on special teams.

What would a good choice for an offensive second-stringer be? Been kicking around the idea of having a backup offensive player. Don't really care about the position.

Also, is anyone on the team faster than McStomp?  awesome, for real

I have Greenshoes Gonzales (WR) sitting at 48 speed at the moment, at the detriment to other skills...but was experimenting basically as primarily a KR/PR.

He's the PR at the moment.

I'm going through and cutting out CPU chaff from the roster.  Depending on how Stamina / Playtime works out I'm hoping we can get rid of some of them all together.

You still might want to consider McStomp as the primary returner for now, his skills are more rounded.  Although it might be interesting to see how raw speed affects returns.

I have some other players in development (yes I am hopelessly addicted) in addition to the players I hope to sign midseason.  In development (CPU team at the moment) LB, QB, FB.  Probably keep on CPU team till at least level 8, then maybe fill in some of those CPU spots.

I did something similar with a level 12 CB-as-primarily-KR/PR, and really, that much speed without vision and agility means you just run into the pack faster. It gains you maybe 2-3 extra yards per kick.

EDIT: As a result, I'll be boosting vision primarily now. My agility is low 30s, and I have kick return at 5.

I have decent vision, my third best stat behind speed and stamina. But my agility sucks at 17, it's the skill I'm working right now. I only missed one tackle out of eighteen in the regular season and fifteen in the scrims, though.

Be warned - only 18 str and 11 (!!) carrying. Not sure how that bears out, but it seems like Cough McBallup on returns...

Please check out this thread, y'all:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=361374

I might offer some contracts tomorrow to replace some of the CPU backups with players as I can find them.  If you have players who might be options, if I've forgotten them... let me know.

I feel like I missed at least one FS from here, I thought we had a surplus but I've got TNT doing double backup duty at the moment.

I made this SS if you needed a backup, just on a CPU team now...or i could just level up on the D team and see if you need him later in the season.

I've got an FS if you need a second. I'm on a player team atm but they plan on dropping me. Signed me then their inactive starter came back so I'm kinda useless. If you need me I can talk to the owner and get him to drop me.

If you guys need any other spot let me know, I've got some FP avail to roll a new char and I'd love to get on the team with you guys.

I rolled a backup QB: Steve Jung. Going for pocket passer. Also rolled a WR: Barry Rice, but I'd rather have the backup QB in. Finally, I rolled a CB: Cholly Woodson.

And I won't roll no more!  awesome, for real

All of those guys will be on the Chacha's by season's end Sky, but right now they would be both slowed in their advancement and a dagger in the Chacha's side for season 3.  I'm hoping we can get away with what we have so far.  I'll whine more about spending points on stamina if we don't.

We are getting rid of these guys.
If you want to get rid of CPUs it's a good chance. I don't want money, so you can just trade them for enough unwanted CPUs to balance the trade (otherwise the system won't permit it)

OFFENSE:

- Adriano di Fonzo (HB, liv. 8 ) - http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=116307 -
- Enok Bukka (FB, liv. 7 ) - http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=92608 -

DEFENSE:

- Frank Urloriz (LB, liv. 6 ) - http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=293310 -

SPECIAL TEAMS:

K - Demios Pantegana (lev. 7) - http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=278073

Remember that there's a HUGE difference between equal level CPUs and human so this is a great deal, even if it's only for 2nd or 3rd string.
I'd release them as free agent, but there's a chance the players get greedy and accept a better offer from a different owner so the trade way is to be preferred.
That said, I'll cut them anyway in a week.

I made a CB, Doc Mur who I added to a CPU team to get some levels and stats. If/when we need a CB, he can happily be poached from that team.

Depending on the league average level, I would say 6-8. He will level like crazy the first couple of weeks. If you are going to boost, do it after you get a few 'free' levels.

I updated my team purchasing preferences to AA, AAA and Pro in America. That will (eventually) give us another place to use high level players. Gonna be a while before I get there for sure.

Started a thread on the team forum to discuss game tactics. Let's keep player development and strategy talk there as well, at least for specific stuff. I am guessing our opponents could find this site and thread pretty easily in a Google search for Sauced + WayAbvPar (Owner and GM, which is how I would do it).

I only read the first page of this thread...

it got long while I forgot to try this out.  Sorry.  So anyways, I made a newb CB, do I join one of the 3 comp teams that are offering contracts for the first season or two or what?

Thx.

Read entire thread, found out I both put too many points into skills and went too well rounded.  Stuck my first player (CB) into a CPU team where currently I'm slated to start right away (hah!) so we'll see how that goes.

New questions that you guys have mere hours to answer..

1.  How do I make more guys.  I'll drop some cash I'm already excited and amused enough for this to be worth $10 or whatever the smallest flexbuck payment is.
2.  What gaps do you have the cloud chasers?
3.  Where are the best build threads?

Thx.

1. You make more guys by dropping cash :)  Bort has been giving out 100FP as a season ending bonus, but that's it for the freebies.
2. Here's the roster.  Anything that says CPU should be replaced.  I've signed non-f13 players to back up positions at QB, HB, OG, OT, and DT.  Desperate for 2 CBs and 1 SS.
