Sweet, thanks Sauced. Bumped up my last couple pieces of gear with the lvl 8 upgrades. For season 3 I'll probably buy a few more FP to boost and get the last +1 on my custom piece of gear (SPEEED...Bort has figured out a nice microtransaction model). Not so worried about salary, unless the training boost for the upper levels of training get tweaked upwards, doesn't seem to be much benefit vs the cash drain. Pleasant saturday surpise!

Ok, decided to make another defensive player, so if I can't get the DE on the team at least I can have someone on the team.  I boosted him for season 2 and will again for season 3 to be as competitive as possible asap.  Now I gotta figure out how to spend the points.

I'd love to have Junkyard, but he's under human contract til the end of season 4 and is a starter.  We don't really have the capital yet to make an equitable trade.

It's one of my players. You probably have to put some cash in there because of the "fair trade" rule, but it should be a nice move anyway, even if you go for the minimum amount possible. Then you can sign the player on at minimum wage anyway, I don't care about the money and he's already equipped.

EDIT: If they didn't change stuff, you should receive 2.5M in Season Ticket sales in day 1 of Season 3, so be tight with the money but don't be afraid of going out of business too soon unless you give out crazy signing fees to unneeded players.

I know about the day one influx of season-ticket sale dollars, and am contemplating taking out a small loan to add on some seats before the season.

Unfortunately, we're in a rather poor city, so whatever projections you are familiar with... we're probably going to be on the low end, as far as what we get day one.

Just another reminder- if anyone is planning to buy FPs and boost, do it before season 3 starts- you can boost 3x per season, and everything done in the offseason counts against season 2. I think the common wisdom is to save any boosts you might use for later in the season as a nice surprise for a particularly tough matchup.

If you can boost, great.   I think Sky has a good run-stopping SS build going, so if you can focus on a FS that can cover it would help us out a lot.

This is the new owner of the team that my DE is on.  He said he would trade us to another team if we wanted.  You can see if he will trade for nothing.  Use Junkyard as a backup if you want to.  I'd rather have him on your team than on a gutted Pro team.  The new owner says that he is just going to use it as a farm team, since they are going to get clobbered.  (Farm team probably means he will try to gouge you...but it is worth a try)

If you are too busy to do anything that is fine too, no big deal.

The last day off off-season will be Tuesday the 10th. That is the last day to boost for season 2, and the last day to get your stadium sections built for season 2. Sections built on Wednesday will not be built until season 4.

Season 3 will officially start on Wednesday the 11th, which will be day zero. Schedules will be generated that day sometime, and season ticket revenue will be processed sometime afterward when I get to it. This will also be the first day to boost for season 3.

Games will start being played for the odd-day leagues on day 1, which will be Thursday.

I wanted to add a corner section to help bring in more revenue this season, so I took out a loan had the luxury of ponying up for Mr. Smith, which will give us our All Human starting lineup.  Not sure if we're odd-day or not, we'll know soon enough.

There are some murderous teams in our league (one of them run by a load mouth WR from Olaf's D-League Team.  We've been talking smack already), and all of the developed teams had stadium construction, so we need to stay competitive.

We'll start game planning for game 1 on the GLB forum on Wednesday, as soon as we know who they are.  I'll link to the thread here in case people don't check there.

I just ponied up for a bunch of FP; I really like the idea of this game, and want to support it.

Hell, I think I like this game more than I like ACTUAL football.

Anyway, could use some suggestions on what to do with the points. I'm on AIM atm to talk to knowledgeable people, or just PM me.

I'm clueless about the trading...my player isnt worth that for sure.  Definitely buy the stadium upgrades.  This game is just tons of fun.

Not yet. No injuries.  The only way to be taken out of the game is for lack of breath due to lack of stamina.  After 10 seasons, your players will start to decline as he gets too old to improve.
