ReShaun is a lvl 6 DT, starting at NT for his D-league team.  Getting lots of plays there, but from the sounds of it once I get to 9 or so I'll get less?

Haven't put out an ad for free agency yet, just building him for next season, mostly.

The owner of my newly boosted level 17 run-stopper DE is talking about drastic changes, including tradign lots of people. If anyone wants him, let me know, and I'll open him up to viewing.

The most successful and pretty chill forum-wise team I've got a player on has started offering long term contracts, I've got no clue how I should even begin to figure out what fair market value for my player is.  Beyond that we're currently in 1st in our A league so the chance of moving up, therefore meaning we'll need better starters seems possible.  I like the team ownership, but I'm worried about a 3 season committment.  Thoughts from you guys who own teams?

I'm pretty sure salary creep is linear, so you just need to guesstimate how much money you'll need for training in a few seasons, and add a bunch on top. Remember, no new contracts = no new bonus. You also might need to factor in gear upgrades.

Personally, I am fine with 1-year contracts. Keeps my options open.

If you trust the owner not to fuck the team over, long term contracts aren't bad. It really gives the owner an advantage over his counterparts in the FA market, since he doesn't need to worry about resigning his own players in addition to upgrading/filling holes. If the owner decides to gut the team and sell it, you are proper fucked.

I would say sign long term with Sauced or I, but be leery of people you don't know as well. If/when I decide to get out of the ownership business I will probably release all my players and force GLB to fold my team as a protest against how stupid their ownership tools are, so you wouldn't be stuck on a mostly CPU team.

I had a bad experience with signing a 2 year contract.  I signed RIGHT BEFORE the owner decided to gut and sell the team.  So, I was stuck on a gutted team, in a competitive Pro league, and I didn't get along with the new owner very well.  That owner traded me off to another team after the first awful season, without asking me.

It was only 2 seasons...but that is an eternity in this game...or at least it feels like it.  I can see how your owner would want to lock in the players who are 1st in the league, but 3 seasons seems like it would only be a good deal for the owner.  It's a bit risky, but if you feel good about the owners and teams it might be worth it.

Having been burnt once, I would be shy and probably only want 1 year contracts.

I've got 4 players that I'll pimp out to the f13 teams first, but I thought I'd give my two good owners a chance.  I just signed a so-so contract w/ one that goes until the end of Season 5, if I'm understanding what Season 5 Day 40 means...  In return I got a minor salary boost, that is comprable to the 8-10th best OLine at our league level.  Considering that this team will barely make the playoffs I figured that was fair.  I had them throw me a big bonus for the L16 gear + spending monies so I figured it wasn't a huge rip off.

The other team is 1st place, going places, and my CB plays a good game so far, above avg, if not better.  So I figured I'd like to see closer to competative pay versus high end A league CB's and backup AA CB's, which isn't what the offer was at all, they are getting back to me after taking out a loan to re-up a bunch of player contracts.  If I can stick with the team I'd love to but it'll depend on what this next offer is.

I have a young level 9 WR who will be seeking employment shortly.  He's agility based, goal for the future is 50 speed, 65 agility, lots of quick cut, head fake, and juke.  Hopefully would work as a KR as well.  Will boost and do custom equipment if he's really needed.

Don't neglect vision, jumping and strength. Gotta see the ball, get it over the defender and hold onto it once you have caught it. My WR on Way's team is doing pretty well against guys twice his level but gets no YAC. Actually, he's leading the team over guys 4-5 levels higher than him  awesome, for real

Yeah, I'm definitely going to pump vision too eventually.  Hopefully jumping wont be needed as the idea for this character is to create separation in short routes and then maybe get some YAC.

I think that my CB went up against a WR like yours a few games back.  So frustrating, I was on him like glue but he caught every pass.  I've been working on jumping since then   ; )

How flexible is Raph's meatspace? I'd think with the creative people here and also the technical people here it might be possible to make a much better game than GLB :) Just a thought I had as we bitch about some stuff that's "OH HEY ITS BETA" in GLB....

I love this idea, but think people underestimate how incredibly complex simulations like these are.  Championship manager and Diamond Mind baseball have been out for years and still have loads of AI and gameplay issues.  The reason we haven't see a good american footbal sim is largely because the game is just too cumbersome to adequately simulate.  EA tried and failed MISERABLY... though that's hardly a benchmark.

For F13 teams: I'll have a 16 OT and a 17 DT available for signing the first day of season 5 if anyone is interested.

I've got DE's and OT's up for grabs, possibly a CB as well.  My player link is earlier in this thread.

How did I not find this thread until recently I'll never know.  Very addicting game, just made 2 more players tonight.

Here's my level 5 linebacker Zen Brown, averages around 4 tackles a game.  My last game was my best when I led the team with 8 tackles.... too bad the team sucks and we rode a 5 game losing streak to the end.  http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=833288

If anyone has a lowbie team let me know so I can ditch the cpu league.  Leaving my lvl 1s in cpu through next season to get them up some.

I mentioned it on the GLB board.  It made sense at the time we scheduled it a month ago.   Now?  Not so much.  Also, it ran at 9 instead of 10 so my window of making some changes to tactics for the playoff game didn't happen.

Need help at DT, WR, CB, and FS. Also could use a LB. 22+ would be ideal.

I also have a 27 LB that wants a trade- http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=26791

Don't need cash, but any of the above positions would be dandy. Either two lower levels or one same level.

Anyone need a 16 OT? If not, I have a 2-year offer with his current team, and that team is good so I don't mind leaving him there.

Just an FYI, he is built as a KR/PR specialist until recently. He's the 4rd CB on the current team. He could also use some signing bonus cash to upgrade 3 of his equipment, which would bring his speed to close to 75.

Let me know if you want me to open up his profile.

Ok I've got 2x ~L16 DE & OT's available if any f13 team wants them, backup is fine, I'm still fiddling with them.

I don't think that'll matter, considering he's level 26. He'd be replacing my level 17 CB, which in the league we've been playing in is just way underpowered.

I've got level 16's that can be boosted 3 times before next season: SS, DE, FB, and TE.

I'd like to see them all on the same team, as trying to keep up on each of the 4 teams' forums is a pain!

If you are interested in any, let me know. The only one I'm considering leaving on my existing team is my SS, so if you want him speak up. :)

I just released all my players* and sold my team. I started working on the free agent market and realized I had neither the time nor the energy to deal with it. The team had no hope of competing the next few seasons- even the lower league (to which we should be relegated) had average starters like 28-31, which means we would have lost 15 or 16 games again.

I will try to help out with the Chiefs where I can. I am burned out atm, but should be ready to go by day 1 of season 5.

*Murdoc and HaemishM had just signed contracts, so it wouldn't let me release them. Hopefully the new owner will be kind. I also left the guy who threatened to sabotage his player's settings if I didn't trade him. Fuck him in his ear.
