Wow that powerset proliferation feature is going to be a problem for me -- I already have so many alts. Probably time to get some more account keys (to get a head start on vet rewards).

Damn!  Those Roman armor pieces look sweet!  Any info about how those pieces will be unlocked?  Hopefully, no task force will be required.

Article by Matt Miller aka Positron

In which he names some of the "new" powersets, e.g. Psychic Blasters.

My guess is the same way you unlock the costume pieces in the RWZ: you probably get some kind of token you turn in for the various pieces.

Dev Tracker

One of the devs posted that:
- Masterminds will get a new secondary and no new primary
- Brutes will get 2 primaries (axe and mace) and one secondary
- Everyone else will get 1 primary and 1 secondary

It was not explicitly stated, but I assume this excludes the Kheldian ATs.
I think what they're doing is taking existing power sets, and adapting them to ATs that they match up with. Which is why MM's don't get a new primary. And also why I assume the Khelds don't get any.

As an interesting bit of news, Positron revealed that the strong sales of their $10 Valentines Day costumes / emotes got Villian Epic ATs in game in I12 instead of I13.

I'm not really fussed about the VEATs being Arachnos soldiers, but it makes sense and I look forward to finding out what their storylines will be.

Looks pretty damn nice - if I resub to anything once my schedule clears up, this'll be it.

That's interesting. I've thought for a long time that this game would have thrived under a cash shop model.

Argh!  That almost makes me want to remake my Dark/Inv Scrapper a tank, which fits her original concept much better.

An article on Massively has sent the forums into a tailspin - the comment about content not being created specifically for villains has combined with some player unhappiness about powerset proliferation (i.e. the devs picked the wrong powers!) to create one of the biggest whinefests I've seen in a long time.

However, the interesting thing out of that article is that only 15 people worked on CoH/V from the time shortly after CoV launched - according to another source, the devs felt like the game was on deathwatch the entire time. From the comments made in following threads, NC^2 have been successful in hiring more people (again, in part thanks to the Valentine's Day pack sales) so a lot more should come out for CoH/V in the future.

I'd play CoH/CoV full time if there were more varied and interesting content to enjoy.  The repitition gets to me faster with this game than any other MMO I've played.  It's the game I really want to love, but can't stay interested in.

Let's hope the content additions will bring some variety.  Sadly, I'm not optimistic.

There's been some vague statements regarding reinforcing CoH/V against ChampO and some big plans to do so, but obviously there have been no formal announcements this far in advance.
