It's still an awesome photo IMO, he just shouldn't have pretended it was something it wasn't. In fact it's a seriously tragic mistake to make because he's probably done his career and reputation major harm.

That pic of Larry Flint at the Hustler club was taken here in Columbus, Ohio.  That club used to be on Gay Street here, only a few blocks from the Ohio Capitol.

Funny story:  When I moved to Columbus in the mid-90s I worked for a computer company that rented a building with two floors.  We all worked on the first floor and the second floor was always locked.  One day I was sent up there to see if there was anything to inventory and as soon as I opened the door I was greeted by the thickest, shaggiest burnt orange shag carpet.  Later, I found out that the building we worked in was Hustler's first manufacturing/distribution building and that they used the upstairs for office space and photo shoots.  If a room could talk... that one would have stories I'll bet.

Thanks for that link.  There's some real gems in there.

Geez.  I didn't click on the link for ages because I read the thread first and was fascinated by how much Larry Flint resembled Christopher Walken as a young rent boy.  D'oh!

A couple of those pics are pretty famous and commonly seen, but there were quite a few I've never seen that are pretty neat.

Yeah, I really liked those pics.  On a random side note, my grandmother was good friends with Marilyn Monroe when they were kids and she was living with foster parents in the 30's/40's in Los Angeles.  She has lots of hilarious stories about to insane shit they did as teens.  Seeing those pics helps put it into perspective a bit.

I did Up Helly Aa one year when I was a member of the Rag Hrafn viking society. Fun times even though it was freezing cold and I was wearing about 4 stone of chainmail and cuir bouilli.

Best one:

Hitler

Makes you think about the canonical time-travel fantasy about going back and killing Hitler as a baby.  Well, could you kill that baby?  COULD YOU?
Kidnapping him and raising him in a Jewish village in Poland is probably the better plan.

This isn't perfect by any means, but that horse/fire pic just screams for an Apocalypse meme to be started.

Looks like a stunt guy for one of the Robocop movies intended to be viewed from farther away than this still.  He should look more roboty, but instead is just a real boy.  Who knew?

There's a similar race in Texas every year, though I can't remember what it's called or where it takes place.  I'm useless.

I think they're all called Tough Guy races. I know a few people who've done it in the UK and it pretty much involves lots of cold and mud with fires lit on the side of the course to look dramatic (at least in photos).
