This really helps one understand just how vast the Universe is.  Each one of those bits of light represents billions of stars.  But it does make me think that the problem with finding intelligent life out there isn't that it doesn't exist, but that it is so easy to overlook.

The funny thing is that I find the vault from '56 much more pleasing to look at, even though the other is enormously more difficult and impressive.  It's very stylish and controlled looking, I guess?
