Scuba diving at that depth is pretty unlike normal diving. Getting one diver to that depth requires a large team and a dive that lasts hours/days. Submarines are a bit more practical.

Was actually thinking the same thing as Paelos. My thought was, the deeper they go, the smaller they get... but Nebu is probably more scientifically accurate.

After our first winter in Seattle, the first thing we noticed here is that everything stays green.  Back in Ohio, it all goes brown from Nov-April. 

That was one thing my wife and I first noticed when we moved up here as well. Another thing we noticed was just how short the days get in the winter and just how long they are in the summer. It's quite a bit different from Texas.

I love that as a world, we have a type of music associated with looking at outer space shit. Somewhere nestled cozy between ambient, synth, trance, and tubular bells.

The colour change happens for different reasons in different places. Australia goes brown in summer due to dry heat, and green in winter. The trees are mostly eucalypts, which don't lose their leaves.

He could be referring to the fact that Washington is pretty much awash in evergreen trees.  Don't find those much in dry areas.

Not should, is. Thiomargarita namibiensis.

It is the largest bacterium ever discovered, in general, 0.1–0.3 mm (100–300 µm) wide, but sometimes up to 0.75 mm (750 µm). Its size is large enough to be seen by the naked eye.
