Rumour targets October for release window.

Digital Battle - via French site Jeauxpo - is reporting that European PC gamers could be settling in with Grand Theft Auto IV this October.

While Rockstar and Take Two remain tight-lipped about the speculation, history has shown that past Grand Theft Auto games have made the transition to the PC six to eight months after the console release date, so this rumour could prove to be right on the money.

I say this is good news. I do like my 360, and am enjoying Grand Theft Saints' Row on it, but I'm really much more a fan of the PC control method (unless they tighten it the fuck up). Hopefully my 8800 will have enough juice to run it, though...

Seriously, though, as long as it happens, I'll be happy. The lack of Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories had me concerned (I know they're PSP ports to PS2, but still, it's easy money for Rockstar to PC them... )

Yeah i don't believe in 'exclusives' Rockstar & Bioware knows when to cash in on the PC crowd. Let the Xboxsters get performance issues and PC users get the patched, SPECISHUL EDITIONZ!

Bioware needs to be a bit quicker on the pc front, though. Jade Empire was a forever imo.

And for god's sake, don't let Obsidian do Mass Effect, I'm still waiting to play KotOR2, dammit.

Rockstar, otoh, is improving their pc offerings. Had a hard time playing Vice City, switching between keyboard for on-foot and gamepad for driving. San Andreas was way better, I think I only used the keyb/m for sniper sections because thumbsticks are ass for fast precision aiming.

A few of our readers have been emailing in and asking whether the Australian version of Grand Theft Auto IV would be censored in any way.

Well, we decided to check with Rockstar, who provided the response that many Australians have been waiting for. A Rockstar spokesperson provided the following response to the question of whether GTA IV has been censored "No GTA has been censored since Vice City. (Grand Theft Auto) IV has been rated in its entirety, the rating is on the OFLC website"

Good news all round then, it's safe to buy the game from Australia on the 29th of April, now we're just counting the days.
