Picked this little gem up the other day, and it has been keeping me busy for the better part of the day. It's basically a dungeon crawler with a very lite somewhat humorous story that acts as an excuse for hunting some foozle.

There's gear with randomized stats as well as a socket system. Basically you find a truckload of talismans which you either can use as spells, or stick in sockets to improve your gear. By using a specific item you can burn the talismans into the item, giving you a permanent bonus while freeing up the sockets again. There's some limitations here but with the right talismans you can probably craft a maxed out super weapon. I haven't mastered it yet and am still experimenting to figure all the details out, but all in all it's pretty intresting, even if it's a bit to lite for my taste.

They've done a good job with keeping the normally tedious parts out. You regen hp all the time by moving, however if you stand still and hold down L + R you will speed up time and regen crazy fast until you're either at full or some foozles gets nearby. The normally tedious travelling in dungeon crawlers is remedied by the fact that you can run super fast by holding down X for a few seconds.

Another intresting thing is that if you die, you loose everything that you're carrying, including money. This might sound very harsh, but there's talismans that can prevent gear from getting lost. Also, a totally unequipped character is far from gimped.

There's some rough edges and the game is certainly not for everyone. It's certainly a bit repetitive. However, I'm having more fun with this game than the so called killer apps for the system.

Some people might find it a little grindy, there's some areas where you probably want to back track to an easier area to either gain a few levels or some better gear. That's mostly true for a lot of games in this genre and there's no real bottleneck where you get stuck for long.

Buy it, even if a rent probably would be enough to finish it and be content. It's an intresting game from a small seemingly small studio.

It's Fushigi no Dungeon or Torneko, Lite.

In Fushigi No Dungeon and Torneko, whenever you die or leave the dungeon, you lose your levels also.

Izuna doesn't do this. It is a great gateway into the console derivative of Nethack though.
