New engagement.

We were looking for a good fight, with Endie and Bhodi peeking about, and I undocked my domi to go to a safespot to be in position. But 'lo and behold! I am being targeted by a lone Hawk! Sounds too good to be true, but he warp scrambles me, so I decide to send some drones after him and call out to the gang that I've engaged. Then two Ace Ravens and (I think) a Drake warps in. They target me and start shooting, but then the cavalry (Endie, Bhodi, Irek and Daala) arrives, jams and scrambles everything, and I take no further damage. They manage to kill Endie, unfortunantly, but we killed one Hawk that wanted to be a heavy tackler, and a Raven that wanted to run missions.

Earlier, they killed me in a crow with a stealth bomber. Nice trick, btw, I thought I was too fast for them. I was not. Possibly I was just clumsy in handling the ceptor.

Nice fight guys, I guess my little cruise missiles really don't hurt a Raven's shields much - need to think about something better to use..

Did you use EM damage missiles? You can also use torps I guess, if that is possible to fit on a scorpion.

Yeah dumbest move of all by me: I scrambled the hawk and started to shoot but after that died they started targetting me.  Knowing what sieges would do to me I warped out once I started taking 550 a hit from his torps.  Right into the side of the station.  Juddering halt, no celestial objects in view on my side of the station, death.  Another mistake i won't make again, which is pretty much the point.

But that was nice work: they had, at various points, a drake, two ravens, a maelstrom, a hawk and a merlin.  i don't know if the manticore managed to do anything much, so i dunno if it was even there, and I think the rest focussed on Vedi once I got done.

Anyway, nice work against the odds.

Yep, all EM missiles. Thought about torps, but not sure I want to go that big. I'll play with EFT.

I also know Emperor Dano in chat was taunting us to bring the jammers on again, I'm assuming he's fitted some sort of counter to it...although I don't know what that is.

Holy fuck, that maelstrom has the best fit ever.

He's armor tanking a Mael (if you call a non-named LAR and 200mm plate an armor tank). Really, he is. He has dual heavy cap boosters in the mid (completely unnecessary) ... crappy weapons mods in the low (Ballistic control and a gyro? lol), no resistances at all. There is failure, and there is this guy :)

If that wasn't bad enough, the dual cap boosters he has are using 75's and 100's.

Heads up for my boys here in f13, if you have a Heavy cap booster with anything besides 800's in em for PVP, you fail.

ECCM is a mid slot that doubles your sensor strength and will reduce the chance of a jam. There's also a low slot mod which no one uses which provides less of a boost.

Perhaps they subtract the insurance?

I was wondering about that.  It would be a pest, since with all other killboards posting the full loss it makes it hard to compare.  But the other annoyance is that it doesn't count modules.  That one raven dropped or lost 86 million in modules and rigs and had a hull loss of over 97 million: a total loss of 184 million, or over twice what the KB says they have lost in total for all ships!

My favorite part of this game was always fucking around with ship setups.  Maybe I should just DL a ship fitter and play with that for a bit.

EFT is great, especially when you are fitting ships t2 and rigs (lost a 250 mil astarte yesterday). You don't wanna buy the wrong shit, and you really get a good gauge on the DPS and tank you will have. You can upload your API data to EFT and will give you extremely accurate fitting results.

Fighting these guys would be a pretty nice change of pace...I guess its rifter time!! :)

Is it worth it to try and also keep at track of what ship we seeing them in usually so we can try to plan engagements better?

I'm 100% sure Lillegut was in a Raven because we were scanning around trying to lock him down when I gave up and warped back to station only to have him show up almost right after me.  Shortly after Demonicus showed up and started putting a big hurt on my shields.

Yep, you have to be aggressed by them first before you can shoot.  You will be flashing red to them, however.

I just don't know what to say about these guys, it's not like they stick around waiting for a fight when we can outnumber them, but they expect us to blindly fly out of stations to shoot at them 24/7?

No worries. We want them to get bored/frustrated/whatever so they make even more mistakes and make it easy to kill them. I'm not in a hurry to kill them all, especially if we can take it nice and slow and hardly lose a thing.

Nah, they're just worried, afraid, and angry that you declared war on them.  They don't seem to grasp the fact that it was for fun, planned to last a week or until they pay a measly 100 mil (that's less than the cost of the two battleships they lost, heh).  They seem to think you're griefers, out to drive them out of the game, or to prey on weak mining corps.  And they're camping you because they saw that as soon as they stop that, you engage and kill their superior ships.

I love it how the smack talk has stopped once they saw the effect it had when it was quoted here and in that recruitment post, heh.

Wish they'd stop camping, cause then you'd come out, engage, and fun would be had all around.  But it's not going to happen.

I wonder what they'd consider a "win".  I know what it is for us, a couple hundred million paid, or a week of solid fun, but I wonder what they would consider a win for themselves.  Probably "drive you out of the game" lol.  Unattainable goals, and all that.

What speed was your Crow going at? I've never taken any significant damage from a Stealth Bomber in my Crow

I'm not sure this is true. I've been meaning to test is with some friends but the last time I knew a non-WT was ganged with a WT (he was used as a warp in point) I continued receiving the Concord warning when trying to engage and he never flashed red once (I suppose he could have been _increadibly_ quick on joining/leaving gang)

So I guess YMMV
