Really good album, guys.
Their cover of Dire Straits' Romeo and Juliet is the cat's pajamas.

Do they cover any good songs?

They've been doing a pretty good cover of Shadowplay (JD) lately that's on that album.
I'm not a big Killers fan though.

Is this an older album or a followup to Sam's Town? I liked that and Hot Fuss.

It's new, but a compilation of b sides and unreleased tracks. Yet, somehow enough of a release to promote.

Sam's Town was really all over the map. If I am in the right mood, it is a fantastic album. Other times, very meh. Hot Fuss was more consistently good imo. Funny Killers anecdote- I was listening to the radio the other day and something kind of familiar sounding came on. I was like 'Oh, is this a new Killers song?'. No, it was an old obscure Cars song. I guess they really DO sound like an 80s band

The 8 minute remix of Mr. Brightside is pretty much the evolution of retro in the opposite direction of synthpop. It's super hot.

Its not really worth buying except for the covers mentioned in this thread, but the Romeo & Juliet cover was so enjoyable -stuck in my head right now- that I have to bump this thread to say that.
The alt versions of well-known songs are weak but some of the unreleased stuff can grow on you and the covers are great, of course I think it helped I had totally forgotten about the song (Romeo & Juliet) for who knows how long before I picked up Sawdust.

A nation consists of its laws. A nation does not consist of its situation at a given time. If an individual's morals are situational, then that individual is without morals. If a nation's laws are situational, that nation has no laws, and soon isn't a nation. -William Gibson

I guess they really DO sound like an 80s band I didn't even realize that was at all in question. People realize that Wolfmother is similarly regressive music, right?

There was a video of Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle) who just boggles when he hears Wolfmother. It was funny. I'm too lazy to find it though. Oh and I really liked Mr. Brightside but their latest single just thuds like a rock to me.

Fantomas had some great music, really kinda gothic and fresh, not gotten any Tomahawk, gonna go look around iTunes. Please don't doubt my Mike Patton street cred. I drove 3 hours to Nashville to see a Mr. Bungle concert then drove back. Not only that but I bought "Adult Themes for Voice" LOL What a pile of crap.

Tomahawk is probably the most straightforward rock thing he's done so far (their last album isn't however, although it's very good). Doesn't hurt that the guitarist is one of my favorites (Duane Denison of the Jesus Lizard). Fantomas and "gothy"? Hmm.. Not sure where you're getting that! Fantomas is what it'd sound like if the Tasmanian Devil made a metal band
