Ditto. I kinda got bored with it and never finished.

Liar, you never beat RPGs.

I never beat it either. Was probably 30-40 hours in and the finish line was only kind of in sight. Could be off though on the time, it's been a while.  I don't think I got bored, although the dungeons run a bit long; I just got distracted.

If you can beat this game, you can at least go back and beat SH2.  You owe it to gaming.

How many will be finished on time? Huh? Whu? Almost all of these have gone gold already.
Since when has that meant the games are finished, though?
Ok, see, I'm cynical.

But not this cynical.

Most of those are console games from Major Developers and a lot of the reviews coming in are 8s and 9s and above for a lot of those titles. That at LEAST implies that they are in a state of being finished. It doesn't say anything about their quality though since game reviewers for whatever reason seem to be broken.

By finish I actually meant how many will be played to completion by you.

Since that is a lot of money and a lot of time.  I am completely surprised I am clocking in at  around 8 hours of play on Fire Emblem that I picked up Tuesday night.

It's 'motif,' noob. Also, I think you should go with all brushed aluminum and steel.

But that won't go with the beautiful 30 inch mac monitor at all.

Those Mac monitors are such a waste of money. The dell 30 inch uses the same panel as is MUCH cheaper. Think of the graphics card upgrade you could put in your system just for forgoing the shiny silver casing.

Assassin's Creed
Crysis
Kane & Lynch
Super Mario Galaxy
Unreal Tournament 3
Uncharted
Time Crisis 4
Rock Band
Mass Effect

Crap eh? I'm interested in knowing what your idea of a good game is?

Anyone buying Assassin's Creed day one without knowing if they fixed issues would seem to be willing to throw money away. Thats a title wait 2 weeks and see if I ever saw one.

UT3 same thing after that horrendous Beta Demo. Until I read reviews telling me more about the single player. This game is simply Epic cashing in on the name of Unreal Tournament. The online browser has many flaws Epic isn't telling us what they are changing, Not many are fans of Gamespy and its being shoved on us. For the PC its a console browser, not happy with that. No matter how much of a fan I am of UT games. It will kill me to buy this and support this game. Fuck you Mark Rein, Fuck you Epic Games, Fuck you Cliffy.

UT games were never known for its single player game, and the Beta Demo just showed me its more of the same UT4 online play, I'm not excited.

Kane & Lynch simply don't see the appeal of supporting a IP like that, rather support something that is similiar but not out and out placing you in the role of a complete villian in a modern day culture.

Blacksite Area 51, I really like the idea, really will appreciate the graphics, just hope its a complete game without it feeling very clunky like the original.

Why would you buy a UT game for it's single-player mode?

Because I was never good enough to play it with Godlike bots, and I found playing with bots close enough enjoyable as playing it online.
I enjoyed UT2k4 single player ladder style to win the tournament. Even how shallow it was without a story, but it built up to you winning.

I also enjoy the IP universe and would like to see if fleshed out more with actual stories.

From what I'm hearing, there don't really seem to be any issues with Assassin's Creed, but it apparently is a love it or hate it game.

Heart Witcher  Heart I know, the guy that owns the board is a console kinda guy. But  Heart Witcher  Heart. It is Vampire the masquerade quality RPG by an Indy studio. How can you look at yourself in the mirror and not support this game?

I started with nothing, and I still have most of it

STALKER runs as shittily and is about 10x more confusing than Vampire.

It's like taking an FPSRPG and making it as complicated as possible. It's an FPS for Eve fans.

Stalker runs amazingly well if you have a good PC. I had everything on the highest settings and it still felt like I was playing quake3 at r_picmip 3. I was looking for more things to enable because it was maintaining the framerate way, way too well.

Of course this was only a month or two ago, so I'm sure there were some performance tweaks in the patches I grabbed.

I can't say I found S.T.A.L.K.E.R. to be particularly complicated.  It seems that way at first, but then you figure out the simple trick behind artifacts (some add radiation, others take it away) and the only real complicated thing about it is having to replenish you ammo regularly.  It's kind of a let down, really.  Atmospheric game, though.

STALKER has a very hard intro to combat ("And for you first real mission, go an clear out a farmhouse full of bandits who are better armed and armoured than you. Here is some cannon fodder to assist you.") as well. I agree with geldon 2.0 - it's not that complicated and is a huge disappointment when you hit some of the walls that make this a pretty linear FPS narrative. The atmosphere is good up until the last few "kill everyone in the corridors / map" levels.

If you do get STALKER, wait until the prequel version comes out and / or consider getting one of the many mod patches out their to improve the experience. Extra inventory space and refined graphics FTW.

Got my STALKER on Steam, finished it, can't transfer.  Got a Half-Life 2 if you're interested though.

The game has an incredible atmosphere that creeps you the fuck out in certain parts.  Especially when you fight the zooming-in-your-face enemies the first time, or are exploring pitch-black underground bunkers full of things that will rip your throat out given half the chance.  Shit.

I have managed to keep myself completely in the dark about Assassin's Creed.  I'm not even sure what kind of game it is.  I saw a commercial that made it look GTA/Sandboxy.  If so, WIN.  It's my title of the week, and Mass Effect is going to be insane after that.  I've also kept myself mostly in the dark on that game, so I'm going to get as much surprise and emotional impact out of it as possible.

I use Hellgate as an example of where this behavior can backfire.  But my Gadar (Game Radar) has been pretty spot on for finding premium titles without reading anything about them or seeing many previews / spoilers.

GTA: SA and Call of Duty 4 are recent examples with where I went in with little information and was genuinely surprised and had intense entertainment and enjoyment as a result.

Edit: And FUCK FUCK FUCKITY FUCK that these games come out right after Call of Duty 4 that has the staying power to keep me going for at least a month or two.

Assassin's Creed - console amirite?  I have heard of this, it did look cool.
Black Site - console amirite?*
Crysis - console amirite?*
Kane & Lynch - console amirite?*
Sim City Societies - for real they still make these?
Super Mario Galaxy - console amirite?
Fire Pro Wrestling Returns - console amirite?
Neo Geo Battle Coliseum - console amirite, though this actually sounds cool.  I remember the old Neo Geo arcades fondly w/ Samurai Showdown, Metal Slug n the fun but not-quite-Raiden plane game.
King of Fighters XI - console amirite?  Also 11, jesus.
Guitar Hero 3: PC - I can see the fun but I want no part of it.
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops+ - console amirite?  Also I tried to play a MG game once, god the whole stealth "genre" is fucking weak.  At least the Sam Fisher ones were a little bit less stupid.
Unreal Tournament 3 - may buy this, depends on what my fps experts say and how good it looks over my friend's shoulders.
Uncharted - console amirite?
Time Crisis 4 - console amirite?*
Rock Band - console amirite?  Also more guitar games?  Le'sigh
Mass Effect - console amirite?*
Ghost Squad - console amirite?*
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings - console amirite?  You know this was the last console game I bought, and I loaned it to a buddy after putting about 30hrs /played in.

Say what you want but I'm so glad I only waste money on drinking, my PC and the odd PC game.  HG:L and the Orange Box were the first time since I graduated HS that I bought two games within 30 days of each other.

* = these all sound like they could be PC fps titles w/ storyline, which really confuses me.  I guess if they pop up on steam I'll see the advertisement but I can't believe people play storyline fps games.  Survival horror was sort of fun way back when and R4 was amazing I'll give them that but for real?  Storyline?  Heard of a book?  I've never met a game with voice acting and me watching in-game characters go through stupid /emote conversations where I didn't want to punch some fucker in the face.

My understanding is that Assassin's Creed and Kane & Lynch are both PC and console-bound.  Crysis is uniquely PC, which might be why PC gamer is overly excited about it.  FF XII: Revenant Wings is on the Nintendo DS.

This many games at once used to bother me, but then I got in the habit of not having to buy them all on release day.  GameFly makes anything not on the PC able to be rented long after it's no longer in the stores.  That leaves the only games worth buying the ones made for the PC that aren't going to hit the bargain bin in the next 6 months.
