And here I thought that the whole idea of creationism, as in “god made the world in however many days”, WAS a poetic device.

Toltec calendar, really?  This is exactly why I will always prefer Apple over Microsoft.  Everyone knows the Olmecs had the first calendar in Meso-America.

..!..

I looked on Amazon, and all of the choose your own adventure books seemed like they were written for seven year olds.  I used to read the D&D style books, which seem to have gone out of style.

There was a series of them (not actual cyoa brand) that were like Greyhawk or Greywolf... something like that.  I think I could only find four of them.  They were the best.  It was like playing DnD long before I knew about rolling dice.

Sagard the Barbarian!

Very important to my 10 year old self.  Until just now, I had no idea Gygax and Flint Dille wrote them, either.

I started way back with Warlock of Firetop Mountain and the Fighting Fantasy books. Played loads of them when I was young. Written by the guys who founded Games Workshop.

...and many of them were illustrated by Gary Chalk who, while having a horrible sense for female lines and proportions, is the awesomest fantasy line artist EVER.
