Anyone who real time has to confront something as epic as cat lawyer and doesn't break kayfabe...either has an amazing amount of self-control, or is a terrible person who is not capable of joy. I would have been pissing myself.

There is a reason you aren't a judge.

The shit judges have to put up with on a daily basis, cat lawyer probably isn't even the first animal lawyer the guy has seen.

At least it was just a cute kitten rather than some nightmare fuel version of furry cat porn.

This just reminds me; I need to improperly use semi-colons more frequently.

I think 12 is the record thus far for LE Modesitt in the 'most commas in a single sentence' category. It's so distracting I made a game out of it (I'm personally more of a parenthetical aside kind of guy).

Hmm...hadn't heard of the term before but doing some quick Googling I would say I'm a Structure Purist as either a Doctrine Purist and/or a Doctrine Radical since to me "Loitering" means in this case the ability to circle / hover / maneuver near a target in the air for an extended period of time before maneuvering to strike a target. The Brimstone / Doctrine Neutral is borderline since I don't think it can stay up in the air that long.

Yeah, a loitering munition implies the capability to fire it without a target, then for it to either pick one or be sent one later. Otherwise literally any projectile is a loitering munition, especially if you use a definition of 'loitering' that allows < 1s loiter times.

No, that's the same as the helicopter in the pic.

Though it is the closest thing in that image to an actual loitering munition besides the two drones

Why isn't a landmine a loitering munition? What's with the air fetish here?

A landmine is not able to discriminate targets, which a loitering munition is.

What if you had a landmine or minefield connected to some kind of FOF signal? etc. (not at all out of the question)

Then it could be a loitering munition. More appropriately a remote controlled car with a go-pro would be a loitering munition

I think loitering munition requires some degree of capacity for observation of the target and delivery via the air. I guess a FoF system on a landmine would be functionally similar to an unmanned drone that can autonomously deliver strikes - I'm not sure anyone has so far been willing to use machine intelligence to pull the trigger on strikes yet though - but unless it's a land mine that propels itself into the air and then explodes I don't think it's in.
