In the versions that were configured for jumping, yes. Apparently the writers were told to to work that in after the non-jumping car broke down while shooting the pilot, and they had to sub in a jumper. --Dabe |

I always thought it was due to it being a race car they used for bootlegging. Welded doors are common in racing, race cars make good shine running cars (or vice versa, if you want to be more historically accurate).

Yeah, the whole story was a Robin Hood tale with modern day versions of the bootleggers who raced their "stock" cars when they weren't using them to run moonshine. |
