Oh lovely, but what the hell are you eating; and are you eating off linen? Or are those just the ingredients for something?
The linen confuses me, but it has a lovely visual texture; is it even linen?

It's steak tartare and it's a wooden chopping board. And it was totally delicious.

Yes. Quail maybe? It looks too small for a chicken egg.

No, it was a chicken egg. A large, free-range one. It looks small because the pile of raw fillet steak is VERY LARGE.

Mmmm
Nice composition, though I get what K9 is seeing, for some reason the narrow depth of field makes the wood texture look really odd. I thought it was sitting on canvas of some sort at first.
Nothing wrong with raw eggs folks (outside of salmonella...) My favorite sushi is a Tobiko (flying fish roe) nigiri with a raw quail egg on top.

Yeah, I just popped it at f2.8 out of habit really.... food shot? 2.8. It was meant more as a snapshot really and I didn't spend any time titting about with it cos it was my lunch and I just wanted to eat it! And Paelos, whatever. It's not like I eat it every day. Once a year maybe. There's plenty of other things I do in my life that cause me harm, as do most of us. Drink? Smoke sometimes? Live in a city full of traffic fumes? Plus raw fillet is a damn sight easier to digest that any cooked meat. Was good fillet too, found a local butcher that has impressed me a lot a few weeks ago. We had rabbit from them night before last, really good and cheap too.

Flooding in Downtown Covington, KY viewed from the Carew Tower in Cincinnati - 45 floors up. I need to find another panoramic stitcher. This program was nice in that it automated everything but the dev wants 150 euros for the full version, so, watermarks it is for now.

I'm actually going to be buying a copy of PTgui as soon I have some cash, though I need it for a specific reason (HDR pano). Otherwise you could try the Microsoft pano stitcher, or if you have a copy of PS around you can use that. The MSoft one is supposed to be a pretty good free alternative.

I use this freebie thing called "Autostitch". I like it.
Speaking of which, almost every day as I'm driving home from work I have this utterly fantastic view of the city that I always wish I could capture, so today I pulled off on Treasure Island to snap a few photos to stitch together.
Looking at this photo I realize that I had the camera set to a high ISO from some low-light shooting I was doing earlier, which probably explains why the image is a little noisy. Doh. Maybe I'll take another crack at it next week and bring the tripod for good measure.

Thanks. Sam, is this the autostitch you mean? http://cvlab.epfl.ch/~brown/autostitch/autostitch.htmlSays it's only a demo version. I'm at the job right now so I can't d/l and install to see what features might be disabled. (Although I do have free access to the full Adobe suite, including CS5 here. )

Guys, try Hugin if you have time. It didn't work for me before, but I just got it to work (they improved their software). Its probably the most powerful, free stitching program available.

That's the one. The "demo" is pretty full-featured; I think it might be time-limited in theory but in practice it doesn't do a very good job of tracking how long you've been using it. No watermark or size limit or anything.

All this talk about panos made me try to figure out a HDR pano. Still couldn't figure out how to do one properly, but I did manage one using some automated procedures.

Ah, I had to copy & paste the link before that pic worked.
Nice, although I have to admit I've gone right off HDR.

Stupid dropbox.
Thanks! I've gone right off HDR too, but the dynamic range in a lot of sunrise scenes is too much for a camera to naturally cover!

Keeneland trip with the new office today. Here's two of my favorites so far. (Downsized as always to not kill the forum. I also have to figure out why they're exporting so damn dark...)

They don't look particularly dark to me. Monitor calibrated?

They're definitely dark compared to when I view them in Lightroom. There's a lot more detail visible in some of the Chestnut and Black horses. They WERE even darker the first time I tried posting, but I upped the exposure some to get them looking like they do now. I think part of it might be how LR adjusts things when downsizing jpgs.
Here's a full-size version of the first pic.

Yeah, but my monitor wasn't calibrated right and I was opening them in an editing software that didn't support color spaces because it was older than Adobe'98.
