I have this problem at work.  We have a big box of hot chocolate mix packets.  Some weirdo always uses 1/2-1/3 of a package and then just folds it back up and replaces it in the box.  So we have several half used packets always sitting in the box.  I have no idea why anyone would do this.  I did attend this one meeting where someone brought 100% sugar free EVERYTHING.  Food.  Sodas.  Cookies.  That was one of those meetings where no one ate anything and went out to the cafeteria afterwards (which never really happens).

Blurry out of focus CD rack with a lot of CDs?

If you have a thing for 8-bit RPG, the Ultima IV cartridge I see in there is worth holding onto.  It was a really good port, better than the original in a lot of ways.  The combat system was much improved, a couple new quests were added, and party size was reduced (a good thing) while adding a neat little inn you could use to swap members in and out.  A lot of the later console Ultima ports were "Here's some trash with the same title, fuck you!" but this one shines.

It's in focus. Its a long exposure though. :) Also, that's not a lot. :P

See, I wasn't worried about AZ because of this.  Humid and hazy.  In fact, we are expected to see 102 degrees on Friday, while today I just had 96 degrees underneath the parking deck.  It's hard to take a picture of suck, but this is not far off.

This past Sunday was Vancouver's anual Pride Parade. Massive turnout, and it was a perfect day for it. I will say that I saw (and photographed) a few things that no man should ever need to see, but otherwise had a great time.

Yes. My dad just got out of the hospital for a black widow bite. It wasn't even a female (had a white hourglass instead of the red). Bit him on his big toe, because it'd been hiding in some shoes he had sitting outside and he forgot to shake them. Within hours, he was having some major pain going up his leg. Went to the doctor and they shoved him into an ambulance and straight to the hospital. They pretty much had to let him ride the poison out (so long as the venom didn't start hurting his heart or breathing) because the anti-venom comes with some serious side effects of its own and is a last resort. He said it was the worst pain he's ever been in, and that includes the 2 times he had kidney stones. The man's a former navy seal, and he was given so much morphine and muscle relaxants that at one point, they had to put in a breathing tube because his diaphragm had relaxed so much he wasn't breathing right. And he said it STILL hurt after all that from all the muscle spasms. Strangely enough, his foot didn't swell up, and the bite was fucking tiny, I mean like a paper cut tiny.

He's out of the hospital now for a few weeks, and says he still feels a bit weak at times.

Black widows mean you harm. Kill them at every opportunity.

A friend of my parents gave me a tarantula when I was a kid but I accidentally killed it with a pencil.   :oops:  I was devastated.  Spiders don't bother me as much as most people.  You'll probably never swallow a spider in your sleep but I bet they crawl all over your eyeballs and play in your hair.   And I bet they giggle while they do it!   :lol:

Just out of curiosity, what do you get with your Netflix account? I pay $18/month for unlimited mailed rentals, plus a 1 for 1 in-store exchange and one free in-store DVD or game rental a month with Blockbuster.

We stopped getting those in-store game coupons with blockbuster, and are probably going to switch back to netflix.  The only advantage BB had over Netflix was that you could exchange every movie in store, essentially having 6 out at a time.  Their qeues suck balls, you don't get shit in order, and the selection in store (for blue-rays) is fucking horrible.

Now that they've taken away the free in store exchanges and we don't even get game coupons, whats the point?  Might as well switch back to netflix and actually get what we want, when we want it.

I've never had a problem with the qeues, but how long was it before they took away your in-store exchanges? That was what originally sold me on it and I've had my account for six months now.

I think my Netflix plan is something like $16 a month for 3 concurrent discs, which with their turnaround time is about 5 discs a week if you get your timing down so you watch each disc when you get it and mail it back out the next day.  No monthly limit.

Popped out of work for a sandwich.  Welcome to Scottish weather.  Camera phone, so apologies for the quality.

This picture is notable because it contains one huge bloody castle, about a quarter of a mile across.  The street is called "Castle Street" in honour of the castle.  It might as well be the case that the street is on the edge of a city with a massive cliff-like wall surrounding it, for all you can see:

Actually, I paint (or take, rather) a misleading picture there, in that the weather, with the exception of that hour-long interlude, has been cold, bright and crisp for the last couple of weeks.  Our geography means that Edinburgh is usually dry: that picture of mist and rain would be more like Glasgow, except that they don't have something as pretty as Georgian architecture or an invisible castle.  And the street would be filled with junkies and neds.  And the Starbucks would be a chippy with a metal grill protecting the staff from their Buckfast-fuelled customers.

That weather looks a lot like Seattle usually does during December (this year it has been all over the map. however). Good weather to duck into a pub and drink yourself warm and dry.

For me, the odd thing is that the only time I went to Seattle it was 34 centigrade at the airport, it didn't rain - blue skies the whole time I was there - and I broiled the whole time.  The aircon in the very expensive hotel that MS was paying for was wholly inadequate, and everyone was very apologetic that it wasn't raining.

May through September it is gorgeous here most of the time. The rest of the time it is gray, varying from cool to chilly to fucking cold.

Oh, and Glasgow has some of the nicest street junkies I've ever met.  One Xmas, Righ and I were shopping there before heading up to Dunoon and I got tired and sat on a bench while he finished up.  I wasn't a bit lonely.  I sat and chatted to the homeless heroin addicts for about an hour or so.  It was surprisingly pleasant!

Absolutely. I made some cookies, so I brought in some for the folks around the office. Also a bowl of candy canes. I'm not big on sweets, but everyone else was glad for more cookies.

Move north man.  You'll like snow for about a day and then realize that it sucks to not be able to jog/cycle/golf/etc.  I've lived my whole life with snow and would happily go without it the rest of my life.   That's why they invented planes... to fly to where the snow is.

Good external lighting and no flash are good places to start.  Composition wise, the mantra is 'Tight is right'.  Notice for instance the visual impact difference between those delicious sausage links and biscuits and my plate+ salad bowl shot.  I broke my damn 18-55 mm lens, and while I love the bokeh on my 50mm prime, it's not really made for these tight in close shots.

Just don't go crazy calling in to work sick just to take pictures in better light  :awesome_for_real:

I just use the macro and try to get the shot in daylight. Next to a window is fine, even if it's overcast outside. I have a Nikkon CoolPix digicam.

Just be careful with it - especially when cleaning the rear lens.  It pops out of position a bit too easily and can jam itself up right good.   That's how I ended up leaving mine in pieces in the Grand Trianon.   But otherwise, I love my D40 for the most part.   It does have limitations, but the form factor and grip of it goes a damn long way.

I miss theater work. Theater people are the best.

Actually that was just a bar crawl. I'll admit the quality of costumes was up there with a theatre production though.

I'm at University in what is only a city through an ancient technicality, we hit about 6 bars and then a club with no more than 5 minutes walking between each one. Which was lucky as it was too cold for them to be wearing that little for much longer (though the local women manage to go about wearing far less when it's literally 0^oC so I guess that aspect's not too impressive).

Where I live in the Rocky Mts, the students often walk around campus in shorts, t-shirts, and sandals when the temp goes above freezing in April. 

On a side note, I'm so glad that I'm not in my 20's anymore.  I can't imagine dating women in their early 20's. 

I'm fucking hating it. Paranoid, overly emotional and crazy. Though I've heard through the grapevine that this doesn't change, you just work 9-5 so it's less apparent.

The temperature went above freezing here, so I was on my deck BBQing in shorts/T-shirt last night. Us Canadians are a hearty folk.

Mid 20's are worse. At least in the early 20's, most people (men or women) at least somewhat realize that they're fools. And fools can be fun sometimes. Many 25-ish yr olds, otoh, and especially women, are cocky as hell. Lots and lots of games. That's mostly what I deal with right now.

30-35 is great. Cool, quiet, down to earth, right down to business. There's just not a lot of women out and about and single in that category, in my experience.

There are, you just want to stay away from them.  If they've been looking, then they're single for a reason.

That said, I could never stand women in their 20s, even 10 years ago.  The only thing worse in my memory was women in their late teens.  I'm glad I was able to separate my wife from her family and mold her to my personality in many ways.  :grin:

I know that feeling, only possibly worse given an even smaller dating pool.

We have tons.  They're just either all college age or their mid-forties and older.  What I don't get is where the ones close to my age are hiding.  I literally know one person who is within two years of me (and she's in Taiwan for another six months for work).

Meh.  I'm not to the point of wanting a relationship more than my current job yet.  Maybe five more years of fighting off nesting instincts will cure that.

Out at my mother's place for her birthday yesterday. She was out of town so we set up her summer furniture and spruced the place up before she got home for dinner. I noticed the dead dove when I was taking things out through the basement. When I was putting the furniture on the deck, I noticed the mate. This is a picture of the mate scurrying away from the corpse when I leaned over the rail to take the pic.

Doves are monogamous, and the devotion this one showed for her dead mate surpasses what I see many humans show for each other. My mother feeds birds, so the dove just kinda hung out all day pecking food and going back over to sit by her dead mate.

I love doves.  I get teased for it, but I frequently exclaim with loving exuberance 'Dove!' whenever I see them.  (I should note there are like forty nesting pairs year round in the immediate area.)

They used to all be mourning doves with a handful of Inca doves.  Now they're mostly white wings.  I still love them all.

The magpies around my parents house in Colorado were annoying my parents because they are loud as shit. So, my dad asked another guy what to do with them, and he said to shoot one and throw it up on the roof as a warning. So, he did, but magpies are monogomous so the mate mourned over the body for weeks. My mom was horrified and took the gun away.

My dad felt bad about it for a month. Now they both feed the birds, even though they are loud as hell.

I once watched a squirrel get stunned by a passing vehicle, didn't appear too hurt but as it tried to catch it's breath in a nearby gutter, 3 magpies swooped down and tore the poor thing to shreds...while it was still alive.

Yep, magpies are less charming versions of crows, which is saying something.  They'll steal eggs and chicks from other birds' nests, and they're one of the few animals I can still happily shoot with a clear conscience.

Glock 19, 9mm

Sold my well used 34 last night (full size tactical/practical 9mm) and picked this one up NIB earlier for a total of $40 out of pocket, I'm happy. 

What brand is a 34? Not familiar with it.

Glock 34, it's their competition 9mm model.  Fullsize frame, longer slide and barrel, roughly the size of a 1911.  It worked flawlessly for me, thousands of rounds down the pipe and not a single failure to fire, but it's just too big to carry concealed.

Same feeling here, until I remembered that one of my neighbours was losing a fifth of his crop to a rabbit infestation after the little bastards grew immune to mixy (though I hate that disease for what it does to the poor little buggers).  We used to drive an old BMW 5 series round his fields in the evenings, with drunk 16-year-olds with 12-bores leaning out of every window (driver's included).  I very nearly broke my jaw taking an ill-advised shot.

Awwww.  Looks like my Magenta!  I'm not getting another kitty until we move again, though.  At some point I want five.  I get a Righ sigh every time I say so.

He knows I would do and have done just about anything to avoid having children, so he'd laugh at me.  I pamper my kitties, though.  Last night when I fed them, I kept moving their food to the middle of their dishes so to make it easier for them to eat.  He rolled his eyes so hard, I could hear them click.  I tend to obsess, I think.

I have to admit that I'm at an obsession stage. A sick abandoned stray? Ima spoil this dude! Forgot to mention his name is Bartholomew, though I'm considering vikingizing it to Bartolomaeus. Black Bart ftw.

Both mine are rescues and Lister was a stray kitten with a choked mew and a scabby nose.  Now he's like 15 lbs of almost tubby tabby and the king of the house.  I really keep meaning to post pics.  I am DEFINITELY going to post pics of their first cricket soon.  I have to be careful, though.  I'm thinking of blocking the closet and under the doors and stuff and doing it in the master bath the first time.  I don't want noisy crickets hiding in the house making a racket in the middle of the night.  If they're quick enough, it'll be the living room next time.  Also, raw food is the best thing I've ever done for them.  Lister keeps his coat and it looks incredible.

I'm transitioning my cats to a raw food diet.  I buy them Nature's Variety (http://www.naturesvariety.com/content.lasso?r=1643763&page=1172) raw food medallions.  They're still eating a wee bit of dry (grainless) and I mix the raw with just a little of the Prairie canned.  Lister likes variety and a stronger flavour than Magenta so I alternate between lamb, chicken, venison, and rabbit.  I wanted to make the food myself but I'm just not up to grinding bones.  By next month, I'll have them completely off dry and down to my ultimate goal of all raw with a dollop of human quality canned.  Dry food is probably the source of most cat tummy and urinary problems. 

Within days of starting them on raw, I noticed a difference in their energy level.  Lister used to be a total couch potato and now he has about 10X the energy.  I started seeing a difference in their coats a couple of weeks into the transition.  Lister barely sheds at all and Magenta (longer hair) is improving constantly.  Both their coats are way shinier than before.  They have no hairball problems and their breath smells 100X better.  My sister feeds her dog the same raw food and has had really great results, too.

My nephew and my sister's dog at Xmas wearing some of the pressies I got them. 

We have our two cats, Burger and Binkie, on prescription diet dry food, something called w/d. Binkie is a fattie at 15.5 pounds, with Burger not too far behind at 13.8. He eats less than she does, and does more exercise, so he's thinner. The problem with trying to keep one of two cats un-fat is that you have to either lock one up in a room while the other eats, or they both get a chance to pork out.

We have the same problem - I actually do lock up one of the cats while we are at work and he gets his own food in our guest room.

Even prescription diet cat food, w/d is Hill's I think, has more calories and carbs than canned or raw.  Lister was a fatty, too, and now he's just almost a fatty.  He has energy and he's slimming down and toning up since I decreased their diet.  I also fed them the Hill's Science dry food, which is nearly the same as the prescription dry food.  Luckily, I'm here when they eat (I'm always here!) and I can move Lister so Magenta gets food.  Lister is obedient like a dog anyway.  He's very odd for a cat.  I'm in a good position to be able to ween them off of dry all together, though even a switch to human grade canned would probably help with Lister's weight management.

Not that this is a cat thread, but I've always hated wet canned food and I think it makes their teeth rot a lot faster. My cats have always had dry - usually Nutro, doing weight management (http://www.nutroproducts.com/ncccdry-in-wm.shtml) for our fatty. Good stuff as far as I can tell.

My cat always shits all over his fuzzy pants if we feed him anything but dry food. Look at his fur, for Christ's sake!

I don't think dry cat food does anything for their teeth, except get caught between them. Do crackers and cookies clean our teeth?  I brush my cat's teeth but one of the best things for them is raw chicken necks... if you can find them.  Never cooked.  Switching them away from dry might cause some poopy problems at first, didn't for me though, but the benefits of getting them off of dry outweighs them.  Then again, most people don't obsess the way I do and dry is way more convenient for humans.  Cats are obligate carnivores so they do benefit from some plant matter and the raw I use has the small percentage that they might need.  A lot of experts also thing that dry food is also the main cause of diabetes in cats, especially obese ones.  Diabetes almost only occurs in cats who get only dry food.

Our cats won't eat anything but their dry food, mango juice and brocolli. Maybe popcorn. If it has olive oil.

It was hard for mine to switch to raw but once they did, they can't get enough... well, Lister anyway.  Magenta is also goofy.  She goes crazy over apples and watermelon.  Even the smell makes her crazy.  Lister wants meat, meat, meat and more meat.  He's the tubby one.  Magenta is very small and strange and besides fruit, she only begs to play.  In fact, kibble, pieces of paper, and a bit of cardboard on a piece of wire are her favourite toys.  I have spent hundreds on toys and she plays with kibble.  I don't know what she'll do next month when there is no more kibble to be had.

Maybe some nice mod should move our pet talk to a different place.  We've buggered up the picture forum.  Sorry.

Yep, mantises.  That photo was taken a matter of hours after they emerged from their clown car.  After a week and a half I was starting to wonder if the egg was a dud, and then I got home from work one day and that was waiting for me.

Truly the cutest bugs ever.  They're like little spindly kittens.  Sometimes a fruit fly will run by one and it'll get so excited that it falls over.

Ow its just one third of the room on the picture, the crowded part, but yes it does get hot. I got like.. 5 PC's in here, 1 laptop, consoles, tv, turntables, projector and speakers running daily, so during cold Norwegian winters I barely need any heating. During spring-summer time (now) I need to have windows open during daytime and I'm thinking of getting some cooling rig.

I've released some of them, but it hasn't stopped those that remain from taking swipes at each other now and then despite the overabundance of smaller and easier prey.  I'd probably be disturbed if I hadn't been raising triopses for so long.  (Each triops litter starts with about a hundred siblings and is whittled down to the three biggest and fastest through about a week of natural selection.)

Google it. There's actually a condition in cats that makes them go aggressive after too much petting. My Ex's cat used to be like that with the whole "Hey, pet me!" and then he'd go spastic on you.

Pigs are the one animal that I have qualms about eating.  I could see me giving up on pork at some future date.  Pigs are hella smart - way smarter than dogs - and it is only their unpleasant natures that keep me in bacon sandwiches.

I also think pigs are awesome, the little one there was very cuddly and approached me instantly, wasn't afraid despise the size difference and me approaching fast. Just came up to me and started licking my hands and rolling around. I don't eat bacon, but I eat chops. Sometimes  :awesome_for_real:

And regarding dogs. I loathe any dog that is smaller than a kitten. Especially those barking, loud, small rodent-looking bastards with typically old lady owners, I want to kick those dogs so bad with full strength and see him leap 20-30 meters through air. So I've mentioned it a few times, but basically I've spent the last month or so with a buddy of mine converting what had been a spare bedroom into a nursery.   The original plan was to liquid nail some beadboard up on the wall, paint some chair and picture rail and paint the walls.  Shouldn't take more than 2 days or so.

That was before we discovered that glue only wouldn't hold, the failure to actually level a corner of the room, and all the other fun things that can happen.    On the upside, I've got a nailgun now and I know how to use it.   Also, baby furniture is ridiculously expensive.  Thank god for Craigslist.

It's sorta minty.   ;D   We wanted to do something bit more playful/childlike for the nursery as opposed to the rest of the house which trends towards darker, more subdued tones.  We just weren't expecting it to go on fluorescent and darken to non glowing.  After the initial shock, we've gotten pretty used to it and it tends to match the various greens you find in baby gear so everything matches fairly well.   

Very pretty.  If I ever get a kid, I'm calling you to decorate.

Actually, I like the challenge. That said, I've decided I can live a while without trim :) I've got some nice original crown moulding that I saved, nice shape that fits the Mission/Arts & Crafts thing I'm shooting for and a beeee-youtiful old stain that's at least 30 years old. But now I have to match it up with the old walls, the new walls are about a half-inch thicker...so yeah. Interesting stuff.

Also, putting in new electrical boxes, when the old ones are concreted in on the exterior wall, actually they go into the block wall, so I need to extend them because I can't really replace them. And the work I did to bulk out the door jamb the filled in for furring at the end of a wall, but was 1/8" back from the rest of the furring. And no 16" o.c. here! It's 16" and 13" and 15" and 14" and 21". If I ever have to work on new construction it'll be a breeze!

Got a new kitteh in the house, six week old male named Odin. He is supercute and funny as hell. He also loves to attack my feet and pull my two older cats tails. They are not to happy with that, but have accepted him. Funny thing is the oldest cat was hissing the first days and seemed a little jealous, but yesterday he brought a dead bird (!) as a trophy, had to give him lots of love, he is back to his normal now.

Tell me that's a malfunction.  Temperatures that high do not exist in nature.  I'm pretty sure the atmosphere would ignite.

Its the same in my car, if it stands in the sun for few hours (and its a black car) it can show 43 degrees Celsius. While in reality it is something like 25. Its just due to the place the thermometer is placed in some cars.

Am I reading that right?  It says 116 degrees F., right?  What the hell are you scared about, its not that uncommon for it to get that high (though thats right about as high as it ever gets) during summer in California (not along the coast obviously).  I grew up with up with that.  The temp inside a parked car would be much much hotter.

Yeah, 116°F is nothing outside of a car that isn't moving.  I've got a car with warped vinyl because the previous owner let it sit in the sun with the windows up.  Amazingly didn't damage the seats one bit but the dash is literally dust and the vinyl coverings for the kick panels and A-pillars are warped so bad I have to replace them.

My favorite picture is one I took of it being 105.7°F in the shade of our garage over labor day.  Miserable time that was.

Bah. Weather makes things interesting. As someone who was raised in Southern California, I can say without a doubt I far prefer the seasonal Northeast.

110 is pretty standard here during the summer. Of course, if you find shade, it's basically instantly 80 degrees and feels nice. Phoenix is more tolerable than any place with even 8% humidity and 80 degrees or more.

He's batshit crazy. He tears the shit out of everything, even though I've got him confined to one room right now. I'm against declawing, so we're going to buy cheap shitty furniture until he's a bit older and less kitty-psycho. He's only three months old, the peak of playtime.

He is intelligent (for a cat) and training well (for a cat), so I hope it won't be too bad. Because he's a great cat, one toe shy of the record! He's got 26, 7 on both front and 6 on each back, the record is 27. Maybe I missed one...

I was considering caps early on but my pussies are good about letting me clip their nails.  Mostly.  I have to do it every couple of weeks or so but it doesn't take long and I'm very careful.  They have so many scratchy toys that their not too too awful with other stuff.  We have to replace the one we have like Sky's though.  They've worn it down really bad and it falls over every time my fuzzy little fat arsed Lister jumps on it.  He has to carefully squirm up on his tummy to get to the top level.  It's a riot to watch.  All the dangly bits are unraveling.  We're getting them a monster one next time.  Putting drops in Magenta's eyes are another thing, though.  She turns into a black furry ball of hypodermic needles.   :ye_gods:

I finally found a scratching post all my cats like. 18" square carpeted base and top, about a 12" diameter sisal wrapped 3' tower. Brought it home, rubbed it with catnip (I reapply every 2-3 weeks) and they've gone to town on it on in the 6 months since. I think it was $60 at petsmart or petco.

I also have 2 other smaller scratch posts in strategic places in the house, one near the sofa, one near my chair. No polydactyls, so your mileage may vary.

Oh, we got a massive cat tower for him. He's a friggin' monkey, loves to climb. It's got two sisal posts on it, but he hasn't gotten the hang of them yet. He just started reacting a little to catnip, so I'm going to rub some in at some point. He picks stuff up pretty quick. Pun intended, because he basically has opposable mitts, he's the first of the cat people imo.

The security surrounding newborns is actually pretty insane.  They've got her lowjacked with a tag that sets off alarms and mantraps if you pass through security without punching in a special code on the doors.   There's also security all over the floor and the parents are both tagged with a plastic bracelet that you have to wear at all times and if you remove it prior to the baby leaving the hospital, you're screwed, because they only do it once, at about 15 minutes post birth while everyone is still in the room together.

When we had our little girl a few months ago, they put a special anklet with a sensor in it on her. The maternity ward was on the 2nd floor and there was only a single elevator leading up to it (there were other exits but they would set off alarms if opened). If a baby with one of those anklets got on the elevator, it would set off alarms. If the anklet was removed without using a special key, it would set off an alarm. Before the staff would hand off the baby, they would check her bracelet against ours.

A friend of ours who had a baby in another hospital had bracelets which would light up and chirp when the parent's and baby's bracelets would come together.

Attempts are farily prevalant, or were at one point.  Particularly with white kids fetching such high adoption prices.  Hell, how many missing kids are there every day even with hyper parnoid and overzealous parents out there?

But that's not the question.  The better question is; "what's an acceptable number of baby thefts?"  If your answer is 0 then the precautions seem sensible to me.

Someone tagged me in the middle of the night. Looks like they backed up from the driveway across the street and right into my car. I'm not sure if it was the neighbors or just some random, I don't leave a fucking note, asshole who was probably drunk. Ya, I'm a happy camper right now.

I'd file a police report ASAP for insurance purposes. Then either talk to your neighbor or keep an eye on the cars there to see if one has a mucked up bumper.

I got one filed just a bit ago, actually. Took them 4 hours to get here, but figuring it's the 4th, I imagine they're busy so, /shrug. I'm really hoping it was a neighbor. Then I have at least a small chance of getting this paid for. Otherwise, hello $500 deductible. Just what I wanted to do with my money. Throw it away because some asshole hit my car. Weeeeee.

That sucks Brog. A similar experience is why I won't live anywhere without off-street parking anymore, but at least mine was just a '77 Chevy Caprice.

Might also want to looki into how much to decrease your deductible. I went from $500 to a $250 for $20/year.

Of course, in 21 years of driving I've never had a claim. So it doesn't work out in my favor at this point.

I considered going outside and killing my neighbors with a machete when they started in on the fireworks again last night at 1am.

Instead, I turned the previously aimed sprinklers on. Do not piss me off at 1am when I have to get up for work at 5:30am

When I was in college the dirtbag across the street was the same way.  Drinking loudly, smoking weed loudly, playing his thumpthump stereo loudly for all hours of the night.  His mother told me to feel sorry for him since he was hurt and couldn't work anymore (and got a settlement, which he used to buy the thumpthump stereo) but that he was wearing thin.  I think them shooting off fireworks at 2AM was the last straw for someone since everything got quiet after that night for the remaining 3-4 months I lived there.

My fiancee's car was hit twice by assholes pulling out of their driveway across the street outside my apartment. We got lucky and got both, one stayed and apologized. The other fled, had a witness, while giving the police report they came back and saw the cops, turned and fled. Cops chased and busted them. I'm so glad I'm almost out of that fucking slum. My house has a nice large driveway on a dead-end street.

The morning of the 5th, the  biggest party house on the block was trashed. I'm still puzzled by the two phone books on the porch roof.
