Yeah I still hate this game. I actually was playing Smash Brothers instead of this at the store I was visiting. I almost never play Smash...

The last couple tiers do some interesting things, and if anything the difficulty on them is good practice for GH3.
Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking - this is good practice for GH3 and Rock Band. Other that that - I have to resist the urge to take my shirt off and rock out to Winger. Fffffuck.

But that Captain's salami tray was tight, yo. You plump for the roast pork loin, dogg?

Thanks to you guys, I went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised that three or four of the songs were actually fun! Still not buying it, but it's good to know they haven't lost it completely.
While playing the game I thought to myself, "This is really really not fun, but I bet Phildo would enjoy it!", mainly because of all the crazy chord switches. I know how you love the chord switches. Hey now, don't pigeon-hole me!

So I'm trying to unloock the songs for quickplay so my co-workers can play after work tomorrow (I just got the game today). So far, either the cheat sites are wrong, or I'm not doing something right, but the "Unlock Everything" code doesn't seem to work. I hit green to pass the opening montage, then hit green to get by the splash screen. Once at the main menu, I try and hit all the buttons for the code as fast as I can, but no dice. I've been using the gamefaqs cheat. Does it work for anyone else?
What can I say about F13? It's really my favorite website in the entire universe! I love the irreverent banter and sly wit these keyboard jockeys produce. And I especially love the staff, they're AWESOME.

Seriously, there's not that many songs, and most of them aren't that long. Blast through it on Easy.
I finished five-starring everything on Medium last night. Took no more than two play-throughs total on each song, for a grand total play time less than three hours overall.
It'll be a good alternative to pull out occasionally when everyone's tired of GH2, and there's some interesting bits in the later tracks that'll be good practice for GH3/RockBand - I think the Oingo Boingo song is the only one on Medium that I've ever seen with a Green-Blue chord. Good practice on chord switching throughout the whole thing, it's really forced me to nail GY/RB transitions.
Still not worth the full 50 bucks, but it wasn't completely flushed down the toilet.
The first two sets are also perfect for breaking into Hard mode, as they're so much easier than anything on GH2.

I just don't have the time... Wife and sleep and work and all that. I got to the third tier, and I'll just go with that. Maybe my coworkers and I can unlock some more tomorrow.

I can guarantee that the cheat works, but I'm not the one that input it, so I couldn't tell you how.

Me buying Guitar Hero 3 = Confirmed.
They just announced Dragonforce's "Through the Fire and Flames."
Damn.
Foreign songs confirmed from Leipzig! * "Minus Celsius," by Backyard Babies * "Hier Kommt Alex," by Die Toten Hosen * "In the Belly of a Shark," by Gallows * "I'm in the Band," by The Hellacopters * "Avalancha," by Heroes Del Silencio * "Take This Life," by In Flames * "Ruby," by Kaiser Chiefs * "Closer," by Lacuna Coil * "Generation Rock," by Revolverheld * "Mauvais Garcon," by NAAST * "Radio Song," by Superbus Emphasis mine. That will be the bridge song between hard songs and Dragonforce.
