Hunt Vampires, when it rains. Interesting concept, possibly a decent game. I may pick it up today.

It hits store shelves tomorrow. The only thing that Actually hits today is Ninja Gaiden because it was pre-shipped and street dated. I have Vampire Rain preordered only because the developer is Artoon. I really have no faith in the game, I'm just picking it up to support, ya know, more esoteric localizations. Fighting the good fight, etc.
But yea, could be good. Probably best to wait for me to get it and see if I last more than an hour without quitting.
Edit: I think the demo is on Live.

It is. I tried it and didn't get very far, but it seems like it's trying to cross Splinter Cell with Vampires instead of terrorists. I wasn't very impressed with the little I played, but I'm fairly bad at stealth games.

Have you tried the internet? It's made out of millions of people missing the point of everything and then getting angry about it

Yeah, I read a preview on IGN (I think) and it said Splinter Cell with Vampires.

Didn't see the demo on Live. Saw a trailer, but that's it.

I have a buddy who does reviews and occasionally vents about the game he got stuck with. He really teed off on Dawn of Mana but Vampire Rain pushed some buttons too.
Over the course of an evening, he complained about invisible walls, "escort" missions where you start off trapped in a sniper tower, and stealth levels where the AI can spot you through walls and never resets.

I played the demo on a friend's Xbox and it probably is unfair to completely judge a game based on its demo, it's a frustrating heap of crap of a game.
First off, it's an ugly and bare gameworld. There isn't a lot of detail.
Secondly, you play through trial by death. This is because vampires ... sorry, Nightbreed or whatever... can two shot you in melee and get into melee pretty damn quickly. So you die if you make a mistake.
Thirdly, it plays like a poor man's Splinter Cell. There may be a way to peer around corners, but I didn't find it.
I've read some further reviews and apparently the game gets easier towards the end and you can no longer get two-shotted to death, but I'd never be bothered that long.
It's a nice concept for a game, but not enough time has been spent on the environment to make you care enough to endure the gameplay. I don't mind hard games, but Vampire Rain is just frustrating.
