Tenchu Z released today. I enjoyed the last one for a while. Anyone planning on getting this one?

I was frothed-at by Killjoy on this one.  I'll borrow his when he is done.  Damn sixty-dollar games.

I have it preordered, I liked the jpy demo. I liked making my own ninja. The missions seemed fun. That said, this is a busy week, I'll decide when I'm in Gamestop tomorrow whether to get it or not.

Yet another game w/ solo play on 1 box, and multiplay only through the internet.  Are we getting away from having friends over to play games with you?  There is nothing wrong with split screen.

Actually, there's shittons wrong with splitscreen, imo. But it doesn't mean they should get rid of it.

I fucking hate split screen. No matter how big your TV is, your view is always fucked. Now if they made the screens adjustable, that would be awesome. I like same console coop for games like Marvel Ultimate Alliance, where you are both on the same screen.

No doubt split-screen is the poor-man's multiplayer, but what else do you do when company drops by?  I would at least like to see the horizontal/vertical choice make a comeback, and I also am glad it is still around (somewhat!) even though it sucks.  If you are going to do splitscreen in a FPS, why the fuck would you make it a vertical split?

The graphics for this are not up to par. Also, the animations are very disjointed.

I played the demo last night, and I was not impressed. The controls felt off. The view controls where wonky. And as Hat said, the graphics are not good.

Ill be giving this one a pass.

Teach you a lesson!

I miss split screen 4-player FPS days. "SCREEN LOOKER!" Good times.

Split Screen isn't optimal, but it is great for when company's over.  If given the option of playing Gears of War or Rainbow Six by my self with the whole screen or playing cooperatively with only half I'll always take half a screen and the company.

the last game I tolerated 4 player splitscreen in was Q3A for the Dreamcast.

God hates splitscreen. So does baby jesus.

Played through Gears on splitscreen.

Twice.

And once on a SD TV (not mine).

Same here. First time through splitscreen was SD, 2nd was HDTV.

You should never ask Schild such a question. Even if it's not, if he likes it, he'll make something up. This series died like 2 games ago.

I can't judge the fun level yet. But of what I played, it seems like breaking it will be more fun than the actual game. It's glitchy as a motherfucker.

I'd only played through one Tenchu before it. The DS one.

That hurt my eyes, Schild. Some of the PS2 ones were actually pretty damn fun.

More fun than I expected.  Controls in first-person are too sensitive.

If you've played two Tenchu games, you've played them all. The last major innovation this series had was giving you a sniper rifle blowpipe.

Wasn't tenchu the game you could put a bowl of rice down to distract/move the guards? They'd walk up to it, look, down, go "Unexplained rice!" and eat it?

Oh, the poisoned rice.

Can't ever remember them going 'unexplained rice' though. They might have gone question mark about it for a sec, but then they still ate it. Every time.

From your original comment, I thought you were talking about coloured rice - the most useless item ever.

It's coloured rice. That's it.
