I turned 31 on May 19. I was only shittier than turning 30 if you really buy in with all of that over the hill claptrap.
Fear not, waggling your cane at THOSE DAMN KIDS is largely satisfying -- just get some good bourbon.
I'm 16 days older than Slack. Damn young punk lawyers.

I'm betting "dental hygienist".
Maybe she's just an oral specialist.

35 hit me a bit harder than 30, too. When I hit 30, I had just gotten this job, so things were going really well. And 35 wasn't 'bad', more of an epiphany, and it's been really great ever since. Sure, my teens and twenties were fun as hell, but I'm so over that phase. I've enjoyed the last few years more than anything, and it keeps getting better (37 now).
I'm also dating a girl six years older than I am (ok, I just proposed to her last weekend...so I guess it's more than dating now), so I get to work through the post-40 stuff a few years early. And some of my favorite people are in their 80s, so I'm not too worried about being old for at least another 20 years.
Plus, people in their 20s generally annoy the shit out of me. Put away your goddamned cell phone. I'll take the wisdom of age over the beauty of youth any day.

Congratulations, you old dog you! Now, if you actually want her to marry you, stop spreading around her real age! (she said yes, right?)

As to Lantyssa's dentist - Nah, as an after thought, I won't say anything.
(Boobs.)
Hmm, Lantyssa is a really hard (fake)name to shorten in to a nickname. Lanty just sounds lame. Oh well.

She looks a bit like a hippie, albeit an attractive one. Almost like she'd try to fix a cavity using colourful crystals, magnets and herbal tea. Instead of paying her in cash your next visit just buy her a $99 scanner so that article she scanned won't be so terribly pixelated.

That was for the magazine. (I love the outfit though. It's very much a style I like.) I'm used to seeing her in scrubs with her hair tied back. Her blue coloring is a lot easier to see that way, too.

OK, I am gonna weigh in here just so you punks do not start trying to sob on your respective shoulders. Next month I turn the double nickel. I had my first child at 32. NASA claimbes that ability meets experience at 34 to 36. Quit complaining, you are at the peak of your power. After 40 it is a down hill ride. After 50 things really start to change. Things that you shrugged off when you were younger, like a cold? Get used to dragging for a month to shake it off. I have enjoyed a healthy life and I am healthy as I type this But I am more fragile and I recognise this. I hope all that read this live to a ripe full old age. I do not mind getting older as it is so much better than the alternative. What is the alternative you ask? Dieing young.

Grats, Sky! For a second there I had you confused with one of the "never get married" folks and was confused, though. I blame the brain worms.

Sometimes I feel like I grew up too fast by never partying or slacking around doing the stuff that my generation does, but then I am just glad that I am no longer 20 and stuck in college wondering if I'll have a job when I graduate or if I'll pass that fields theory final in the morning. 30 may be around the corner but I feel better than I have in years.

Happy (late) birthday, Fabricated (you young punk!) and congrats to Sky!
Marriage is a wonderful thing, IMO. Just got back from a marvelous lunch date with the husband celebrating our 14th a month late (last month I was busy helping to plan a funeral for my real anniversary. Life's too short.)

I'm really glad to have found someone totally compatible, we have so much fun together.
I was very much a bad judge of women when I was younger. I thought supermodels were the physical ideal and that crazy was good. It was fun...but nobody to keep around very long. This is WAY better...though I'm glad my wild oats were well-sown, which really lets me enjoy this relationship fully.

TRUTH. I let so many quality women slip away only to marry a trophy wife... what a mistake. To all of you 20-somethings: Marry for personality... you'll be amazed how ugly a model can become once you get to really know them. While initial attraction is nice, it's nothing in comparison to deeper personal qualities.

See, the thing that amuses me the most about Sky, is that he's kind of this Grandfatherish version of the Hedonistic ideal. The fact that even he has found a love in his life which satisfies his soul (which i'm not entirely sure he belives in, but I do) is encouraging for all people. He lived his life, he has learned from his successes and mistkes, and in the end he has made himself happy. I find that to be in the realm of Solomon, who also sampled the pleasures of life to find answers.
But then I find widsom in odd places.
