WWII nose art is awesome. Hell I'm inspired for a retro nose art piece:

Gee, you can get them in UV blacklight too.

Schild, this is totally what you should get.

How about WWII bomber nose art?  Classic tattoo stuff, pretty girls, and a lot of aviation stuff thrown into the designs.

Bomber nose art is cool and all, but I think it's a bit too colorful for me - I want something in black with maybe a couple of color highlights (eyes, etc) and be all sharp edges and stuff. Now that I think about it it's probably a bit too aviation specific; something that is more fantastical would work better for me (ie: a flying dragon/phoenix/falcon or a dolphicorn). I really like the style of NiX's tat, I'm going to see if I can find more examples like that.

Deviant Art has a tat section. You can find some pretty creative stuff there.

I was surprised to see new-school games as tats. Like Amaterasu - she's great, but not really a classic character. Yet.

Oh, you totally CAN'T go wrong with Okami, I was just surprised to see it as a tat since it's so new. Prince of All Cosmos would be a great one too. btw, the only company to get rights to create licensed Katamari products (shirts, primarily) is a Portland-based software company. Fun stuff.

Don't let that stop you from getting what you want. Most Tat artists including Gulp (I'm sure) can shrink down anything to make it workable for you. Dragons like that are VERY popular and most artists generally know how to do them. At any size.

Like I told Schild a couple of days ago, that's within limits.  If you've got a fairly large piece you don't want to shrink it down too much.  It'll look good for a year, but tattoo ink naturally spreads a bit given time, and a detailed tattoo packed into a small area will turn into a blotchy mess.  It seems to be fairly common where people want insanely detailed work on very small areas.  A guy at my work told me he wanted a dreamcatcher (Okay, that's bad enough right there) with a scene in the inside of mountains, a bear, a wolf, a mountain lion, and a buffalo.  Was this a backpiece, you ask?  Nope, he wanted this on his shoulder.

No, I'm not tattooing Noah's Ark on a 3" square surface, sorry.

I can testify to this.  I have one on my shoulder that is basically three birds sitting beak to tail, forming a circle.  Their feet lock in the center.  It still looks like the original, but since it's all in black, I have no earthly idea whether it'll be touch-up-able.  Maybe it could be done with white ink, but I have no real idea.

I traded in my fun blog for several legal blogs. Or, "blawgs," as the cutesy attorney blawgosphere likes to call 'em.

My father has a lion on his arm.  He got a few years ago to cover up a badly faded tiger which he got to cover up a woman's name who wasn't my mother.

I like the bullet holes. I think the islands of tatt floating around his body are a bit odd. I like it when they form a cohesive whole rather than just randomly-placed elements that don't work together.

No tribal. I can only handle so much. But, yeah, something in line with that works. Tiny wrists require symmetrical objects.

You should have your DNA fingerprint sequenced (can get it done at a university hospital) and then convert the bands to a barcode. It's an idea I've had for awhile now.

How very Dark Angel.

I doubt, however, that the barcode would make him as hot as Jessica Alba.

A) Does it really matter if the barcode is accurate?  Are you going to use this at Kroger for the Super Shopper Savings?

B) I highly doubt anyone could accurately tattoo a barcode to the point where it's actually scannable by a reader.  Aren't the tolerances on bar codes fairly tight?

ETA:  When I mean "scannable" I mean actually duplicating exactly a given barcode in tattoo form.  I'm sure you could produce one that'd be readable, but whether it'd actually be your barcode is another matter entirely.

This is corn. You see how the bands' thicknesses and spacing resemble a barcode? Imagine how cool it'd be to have your own. Very Mark of the Beast.
