Apparently they're going to be doing short sales like this on Rockstar games all week.
Edit: Also they have the whole Rockstar collection on sale 50% off for a total of $42.50 all week.

I managed to snag it during the sale and only because of this thread, so thanks for that. Vice City and GTA 3 were my favourite ones and at $2.50 hard not to pick it up for the convenience factor alone.

I'd have to agree it was a stupid gimmick. If it wasn't for them having the entire Rockstar collection on sale for -50% off all week.
42€ for all of Rockstars titles. Not a horrible deal at all, especially considering it includes GTA4 and Episodes from Liberty City, those two titles alone are 60€
Of course, why pay 42€ for all those games when you can pay 2-7€ for the single title you want. Only catch is you have to catch the deal in a short time frame. And while you are waiting to catch that time frame, you might get tired of waiting and pull the trigger on the whole deal.
What a devious marketing ploy. Still, interesting.

GTA2 is the only thing I want, I loved GTA2.
Waiting for San Andreas personally. $7.50 is tempting for 4, but why pay for a game I found to be ultimately lacking in fun. |

Its an ok port - nothing flash. I'm playing it right now - I've got a 256 mb video card and I have to have all video settings on low, and some of the driving feels not particularly responsive, but I'm still enjoying it. That may change when I have to do some seriously tricky driving or fights - don't know yet. I'd have been pissed if I paid $50 for it, but I got it cheap over Christmas, and very happy with the purchase. |

So, these are all going to be in the middle of the day, huh? Highly retarded. I would guess so. This one started at 10am PDT and ended at 1pm PDT. I grabbed it. I'll be keeping an eye out for the expansion for GTA4 and picking that up if it priced the same. I didn't pick up GTA4 over the Christmas sale when it was 7€ because at the time my graphics card struggled some with it. Had a 320MB card then, 640MB card now. Can run everything smooth on medium and it looks decent. All these sales are happening near dinner time for me tho, so I guess it doesn't bother me as much as it does some. It's around the time I check Steam for sales anyhow. |

I'm not sure if they are running this in tandum with their Week long sale for the entire Rockstar library or not. They give no indication that of when it will end.
They have had two deals today, one for Bully which lasted 4 hours, now they have GTA4 expansions for -25% for 4 hours. And this package as well, which they don't advert but you can find on the specials listing. 7.50 for all those GTA titles isn't a bad deal at all.

I'd buy these on steam, but given that they won't sell Rockstar titles to Australians, and they have a stupid sale schedule going on with them, if I want to play them I'll just have to install them off the original discs and hit them with the no-cd cracks. Which makes me a filthy pirate, according to some people on f13. |
