There most likely is, but it's only going to make sense to the guy who wrote it. He probably had his own abbreviations, shorthand and self-referential or context-sensitve terms on top of the code itself, so it's no surprise the cytologists couldn't come up with anything.
Shit, I have trouble going back through my own notebooks a few years later and I don't even use code. It's just so much shorthand and context-sensitive info I have to remember what meeting I was in to remember what I was writing down.

Yeah, I used to have that problem too : So many books of notes regarding meetings that I can barely remember the point of, never mind what was discussed. It eventually reads like a Japanese DIY Manual.
