Which doesn't really mean anything unless you can compare their numbers with games that have DRM on it. E.g. this indie game with DRM had a 92% piracy rate. They also calculated that for every 1000 pirate downloads they were able to stop they got *1* extra sale.

The game costs $20.
It released a demo.
It was DRM free.
The game has a demo and can be purchased for $20. That means it has a DRM at all. What it doesn't have is the method of post-purchase call-home nonsense. But that's just a feature. Not all DRM is created equal. Verifying a purchase is fine.

This is why we can't have nice things.
Lucky for us, they don't feel the same way... by the way, just in case it’s not 100% clear, we’re not angry about piracy, we still think that DRM is a waste of time and money, we don’t think that we’re losing sales due to piracy, and we have no intention of trying to fight it.

They also seem willing to look at the actual numbers and methods and accept the results instead of just heaping Starforce onto a title.

If you haven't bought and played this game, you're hurting their bottom line more than the pirates are.

Most of all you hurt your own bottom line. Word of Goo is a really funny game.

Adopting the Net's stoner attitude toward piracy isn't going to win them any more paying business in the long run. But I'm sure having pirates love you will be really cool when you go back to the call center.

It puts more food on the table because they didn't have to spend any money on DRM. Not sure how that's a stoner attitude. Or are you aware of some DRM scheme that actually works?
Also, it's not just pirates; paying customers appreciate lenient or no DRM in their games as well. Having happy customers helps business in the long run.

Puts a lot of food on Microsoft, Blizzard, and Adobe's table via vendor lock in. In other news Adobe's demos lock me out before I've even used them. Fucking retarded.
