Hey, I'm not exactly heartbroken that she died, I just find it odd for people to have actually laughed when they heard about her death.  There was more sympathy in the Saddam execution thread.

I have sympathy for her kid. I have sympathy that a human being has died, mainly because other people wanted to take advantage of her and used drugs to do it.

She was a drug-addled idiot who died, most likely as a direct consequence of being a drug-addled idiot.  What's worse, is that she was an unavoidable, attention-whoring drug-addled idiot, who glorified the lifestyle she lived.  Part of that can be blamed on the media for letting her, part of it can be blamed on people who took advantage of her, but the lion's share of the blame is hers.

If you disagree, explain how there are so many attractive women out there who may not be terribly bright, but aren't a complete fucking trainwreck.  It's not even like she was THAT hot.

I think with Anna Nichole it's less hatred and more not really giving a shit about her inevitable early exit from this mortal coil. She really did everything she could to not make me care much about her. I think there's something to your comparison, but it's also a bit beside the point.  Mocking someone after they're dead, no matter how ill a person they might've been, is a pretty shitty thing to do.  First thought that comes to mind are people in UO standing over a corpse saying "azzrape lol" over and over.  Only it's even less funny here since it's a real death, of an actual person.  But I suppose insulting the moral character of the deceased is how some people show their own quality.
