Jeez. That's like, beyond handyman.

Why are your outlets upside down?
I've had some help. With the bathroom, for speed so I could move in. With the living room, I hired a guy to do the ceiling because it's a pita to work over your head. I mostly drywall, do electrical and any plumbing that doesn't entail opening a wall.

Receptacles installed ground-side up for a couple reasons. Having the two-prong down provides some stability and if it's partially unplugged and something falls on it, it falls across the ground rather than the live current. Not sure it really matters, though. The living room I did traditional ground-down, not sure why now that I think about it. Habit, I guess. I also wrap receptacles, which is not necessary, I was taught that way by my electrician step-dad and it also helps me remember which receptacles I've wired.

Wow, that's some awesome work on the bathroom.  I can only imagine how well the rest of the house is going to turn out based on those two rooms.

Next is turning the den into a library. Right now it's one wall of that brick (not painted, it's adequate) and 3 walls of purple painted paneling. I found the paint can in the garage when I moved in...$5 AS IS. Then the $5 was crossed out and marked $3. Because nobody would buy it at $5.

Anyway, drywall/upgrade the electrical as usual. It's on a slab with an oil-filled electric baseboard heater, which'll be replaced by a low-voltage heat mat and tile. I'd go with matching hardwoods, but I favor tile on slab, especially with the heat sandwich: conducts better and no moisture worries. Then wrap the room in bookcases to match the trim stain. Luckily, one wall shared with the kitchen is plumbed for gas (my next purchase is FINALLY a gas stove for the kitchen), so I'll T off that for a gas fireplace.

Chancy for resale because I lose one of two 'bedrooms', but I'm hoping if I do have to dump it to find a couple or single without kids and decent taste. It's turning into one of the top three properties on the street, smaller but with a better lot and upgrades. The eventual plan is to add a second story: large master bath, a 16x16 his & hers closet/dressing room, master bedroom and an upper loft/study for the library, with a spiral staircase. And of course my third floor cupola tower for reading in the summer :)

Sorry for the ramble, non-housing people!

Only thing I'd say is the first photo suffers from everyone having a slightly different outfit, if they'd even just all had the same colour waistcoat (can't tell if the guy on the right has a white one or just a shirt) it would have been better. Maybe if the guy on the right had been in the centre and the guy in the centre had been carrying his jacket... The other shots are really great, the second shot is just really sweet and an awesome moment due to the bride's expression.

Funny, I'm willing to bet that's going to be one of her least favorites because of that look. "What was he thinking, I look like I'm about to cry!"  The first I like because they're in order of height.. but the short guy needs a touch more background on his side to help balance the composition.

The first shot was a pure candid taken as I'm running up the path to meet the groom for the first time. I didn't even know who was who when I took it. (we'd only talked on the phone, they came down from Prince George - way northern BC - just to get married) It turned out that, in order, they were the best man, his fiance, and then the groom. I also didn't realize that I had gone to highschool with the Matron of Honor until the reception.

As to the second shot, that's about the only one where you can't see that the groom is bawling his eyes out. I also loved her expression in it.

It was a really tough shoot, as it was early afternoon, bright sunny day without a cloud to be seen. They actually spent almost an hour in that park with me taking shots, in their full getup, in mid 30s heat - I was quite impressed. Trying to get nice posed shots of a couple that were about two feet apart in height was also interesting.

Around 2 months ago after an all-nighter there was a nice sunrise. Figured I'd take pictures and put them here. Finally found the time to post-process them  ACK!

I like the sunrise, nice placement of the sun behind that building. I'd have commented before but I've just installed windows 7 and my monitor calibrator fucked up so badly that it looked like an 8-colour GIF. New Spyder3 on it's way to me now.

Its always really sad to see an old part of your life disappear. I went back to my old primary school to do a university assignment and found the place being bulldozed down and being replaced with town houses.

We've pretty much supplanted most professionals and working class with welfare and criminals from NYC. It's fucking awesome. I'm friends with the chief of police (high school buddy), crime is up over 800% (mostly violent or burglary/robbery) in the last two years, after a fairly flat crime rate since the 1700s.

My high school was bulldozed a couple years ago and the plot is still undeveloped.

New Mexico? Sangre De Cristo Mountains near Santa Fe? I don't remember any lakes there, however.

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

Kind of the guesses I was expecting. It's actually an area most Americans would not even know exists.

Osoyoos Lake, at the south end of the Okanagan Valley.

http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Osoyoos,+British+Columbia&sll=49.891235,-97.15369&sspn=38.073148,78.837891&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Osoyoos,+Okanagan-Similkameen+Regional+District,+British+Columbia&ll=47.100045,-122.915039&spn=20.021124,39.418945&z=5

It's about four hours from Vancouver, and completely the opposite climate. Gets less than 12 inches of rain per year, making it an official desert with summer temps in the 90s.

The whole valley (which includes several lakes) is the heart of our wine and fruit industries.

Hah, yeah, I was going to say "looks like the place they filmed the algae planet at in Battlestar."  Which turns out it is.

Thats sort of similar to the Modoc desert.  West of it on the coast is the redwoods, which is some of the lushest forest you'll even find (they actually count as a rain forest).  Oregon to the north and the Sierra Nevada's to the south, but its a very barren dessert.

Huh, I've been in that general vicinity, sorta.  Bro-in-law lives in Chelan, WA (you can see it in the middle of the state if you zoom in on the map a bit).  We've taken the road north to Twisp before, but didn't go up the other road towards the border.  And yeah, that place is just desert looking.  First time we visited was strange, because I always assumed WA state was filled with forests and such and we didn't expect to see a desert/dry landscape like that.  There are some gorgeous views around there though.

Everything about that second shot is awesome except for the model's face.  It looks like she's angry.  I left feeling like I should punch her for fucking up your shot with her silly looking expression.  Your use of light in both shots is exceptional.  The blue eye make up in the second shot makes the whole thing.  But really, neither model's poses really lend themselves to their respective compositions.  Tell those bitches to smile, ffs.  The first shot's composition doesn't really say anything like the second one, and I have no idea what it's about.  Hot chick/mossy wall.  She needs something green to tie it together.  Or maybe a warm color to offset her, I dunno.  But it definitely needs something else.  Overall very good, and I really can't say enough about the use of light.
