I remember wanting to like them in the '80's and just being unable to. It's like the first song a high school kid who just picked up a guitar would write.

It is.  I'm pretty sure that even Mr. Mindwarp didn't take his band seriously.  You gotta dig the laser eyes, though.

Tonight, we're in Glendale to see Clan of Xymox and in June, Peter Murphy is coming to San Luis Obispo. What decade are we in??

You're lucky.  I LOVE Xymox and Bauhaus, although Peter Murphy will cut you up solo, too.

I think I'll go listen to some Sisters of Mercy now since I've gone all gothstalgic.

Apparently Swervedriver released an album earlier this month that I missed.

It's actually pretty decent. If you liked them in the early-mid-90s you'd probably like this too.

Going to go see him live at the Royal Albert Hall, London in september. First gig I'll have been to since Nine Inch Nail's NINJA/farewell tour. Just seemed too good an opportunity to pass up; I know Wilson's a fan of the Royal Albert so he'll have the acoustics completely perfect and oh fuck I'ma nerd out...

So, Tool has a sense of humor.  Ohhhhh, I see.

Quote
"This music leak is unsettling on many levels. First off, it truly sucks to have your unfinished music available on the interweb without your consent. And second, to have it immediately picked up by someone and released as their own work is infuriating. We don't encourage anyone to listen to this leaked clip because it's far from finished and it will spoil what's to come. But if you absolutely must, then listen to both clips. These are practically identical. It's a clear cut case of copyright infringement and plagiarism." ‪#‎sueeverybody‬ ‪#‎marchthirtysecond‬

That'll be a good show I'd imagine. I'll be seeing him in June here in Seattle. I've only seen him in concert when he came through here with Blackfield and that was one of the better concerts I've been to. I'm really really looking forward to it.

Won some free tickets to see Primus (again). They keep getting better, it's crazy. I like that they vary their setlist enough that I've seen pretty much every song I've wanted to see them play and it's always a fresh show. Also funny to be the oldest and soberest people in the venue...

Seen a video of these guys performing in the subway before, that bari player is absolutely mental. Love it!

True! And Ler is a couple years older, too. I first met Ler in 86 when he was with Possessed and they played in Syracuse during a blizzard where only two carloads of metalheads from my town showed up. It got...crazy...

Have I mentioned Roger Alan Wade here yet? I fucking love the album 'All Likkered Up'. From the funny tunes like Poontang to melancholy stuff like Sweet Wine of Sorrow and kinda in-betweeners like She's Gone Back to Whorin', it's a great country album you won't hear on a country station. Easy to write him off as a joke, since he debuted in the Jackass soundtrack and he's Knoxville's cousin; but the album has some great tunes and solid singing and guitar work and I love the lo-fi recording style.

Perky Japanese teenaged girls singing 80s style arena butt rock speed metal. New Baby Metal video. 8 minutes and change of 100% vapid fun.

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

I actually own their first album. Amazing and sad at the same time.

Tuned in, immediately get to watch cringey Ubisoft talking head offering her deepest sympathies to the families impacted by the Orlando shooting while flanked by a man in a giraffe suit and some sort of "horrifically garish neon costumes through the ages" exhibit or something.  We need to stop this fucking planet right now and sort some shit out. -Kail
