Where can you buy awesome?

You can't, it's been discontinued and superseded by Splendid. Do try to keep up.

Breakfast = protein shake.

To those that don't eat breakfast, you should really try to start.  There are MANY benefits to starting the day off with breakfast.

Hmmm.

On Sundays,  I usually try to cook up a batch of from scratch pancakes (usually banana or blueberry) and separate into 3 or 4 containers for the week.  It's an excuse to eat lots and lots of real maple syrup.  Adirondack,  not that damn Vermont stuff.

On a work day, a banana and a powerade.

On a Sunday, the All-Star Special at Waffle House (buttermilk waffle, 2 sausage patties, hash browns, 2 slices toast, 3 eggs scrambled) and a sweet tea.

I don't generally eat breakfast because my insides don't tend to wake up until about lunchtime, regardless of when I get out of bed.  I eat breakfast foods on weekends sometimes, but it's still around 1 pm, so I don't think it counts.

I've just started doing this based upon your recommendation to do it in another thread as part of my new regime. I haven't eaten breakfast regularly in 20 years, so it has been interesting to try again. I usually have a couple of Eggos and some of that microwavable pre-cooked bacon (which is surprisingly low in fat/calories for bacon). I have a godawful 7 a.m. class that I need to get out of my house by 6:20 or so twice a week. I got the shakes for those morning so I can drink it on the way and not have to get up any earlier that I already do. If you have a good recipe for protein shakes that are a good day-starter, I'd love to hear it.

I'm not that big of a fruit fan so it has to be pretty good for me to get all that interested in it.

This stuff and skim milk for me is like crack, I eat it every weekday.  I have never been a breakfast person but the other half essentially forced me to occupy my time between lunch (11:30) and when I wake up (5:00AM).  It really helps, but most of the time I feel like I'm just eating because it's something you are supposed to do early in the morning.

I hate coconut with the burning passion of a thousand suns. That and fresh tomatoes are the two foods I absolutely cannot abide.

I don't like tomatoes either.  But then I don't like a lot of things, which makes for many difficulties when one has a rather restrictive diet.

I love Marinara and other tomato based sauces or things that incorporate tomato paste but just can't stand them raw.

Your standard supermarket tomato here in the US has had all its flavor and taste breed out of it in favor of looking good and being able to survive packing and shipping without damaging. It's actually a law in Florida, where most of the fresh tomatoes in the US come from, that tomatoes have to look good to be shipped out of state. Taste doesn't matter. If you read cookbooks on making tomato-based pasta sauces, many of them recommend using canned tomatoes instead of "fresh" ones just because your typical supermarket tomato is so bad here.

When I wake up (I'm a night owl, I usually wake up at 7 pm or so) I drink some tea and eat some vitamins from costco that taste terrible.

I also hate tomatoes... The way the seeds pop between my teeth and the too salty taste. Onions are another no no.

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

Damn, I love both onions and tomatoes.

Don't use them much for breakfast though. Other than salsa for breakfast tacos, and onions for hash browns.

There's a reason you buy Hanover tomatoes from Virginia when you get the chance.

As for onions, nothing but love.

Before I lived in the ghetto I grew a nice lil veggie garden. Coming home to some nice fresh raw salsa with homegrown ingredients was teh splendiforousness. Tomatoes and onions are staples in my diet, along with garlic.

Damn I should do that more often. My mom has most basic vegatables in her garden, and some exotic stuff to boot.

I do not mind store bought tomatoes though. At least the ones I get.

I don't like tomatoes or tomato sauce.  Pizza is the one junk food I don't eat.  I do, however, like salsa and ketchup.

Today, I had a bunch of green grapes and 4 diet pepsis for breakfast.

I live in the centre of Edinburgh, in a flat, but I'm on the waiting list for an allotment: you put your name down and the city (eventually) gives you a plot of land in the city centre where you can cultivate your own fresh vegetables.  It's not a big plot, but enough to get some vegetables that taste real.  It's no uncommon in the UK, and the practise dates back to the mid 19th century drive to help foster self-improvement in the "urban labouring classes".

Here's an example.

Not trying to be preachy or anything, but do you drink for energy? Food would do it better.

I'm a fan of EAS Myoplex shakes blended with skim milk for breakfast and lunch when I'm in a "cut" phase.  This way I get the protein I need, keep carbs down, and don't have to worry about taking a multivitamin.  The only shortcoming is that they're a little pricey.  I'm sure I could find something cheaper, but these taste pretty good and I don't have to do anything more than pour a packet into the blender with my eyes half open.

Two bucks a shake?

You won't think that's expensive if you start making morning runs to starbucks.

Thankfully, I hate coffee.  It's expensive compared to Slimfast, but it's better balanced and tastes better.

I buy them on the vine here when they look good. They totally suck compared to homegrown, but it gets the job done and tastes good.

Tomatoes, onion, jalapeno, garlic is the basic salsa cruda I make. I always play with it, using a little vinegar or lime; maybe put in some assorted peppers (pablano, anaheim, bell, whatever looks good at the market), sometimes I put leftover jar salsa in for a base.

I eat it by the bowlful alongside quesadillas. So easy to make both of them.

(banana + diet coke again this morning...going to go nuts and have another banana right now! (or would that be 'go bananas'?))

It's weird how peoples' tastes towards tomatoes vary. I love them pretty much every way imagined except one - I can't stand tomato soup. On the other hand, I have a buddy who hates most veggies, tomato's included, but likes tomato soup.

I think the only vegetable I've tried that I disliked was water chestnuts. I've never understood the hatred of all the green vegetables - artichokes, broccoli, asparagus, spinach, green beans.
