The story is quite plain in the open. When I said buried I meant beneath the piles of Zombie corpses I create.

I can't comment on the quality yet, the parts I witnessed play out like typical Zombie movie stuff. Stupid people doing everything to get killed by Zombies. Some heroes trying to hold everything together but ultimately failing against the merciless time. And evil psychos trying to wreak havoc just because they can.

Uhh, it's pretty serious or as serious as you'd expect from any zombie flick.  Some of the rescue situations are inherently funny, but overall, it's general zombie genre stuff.

You've got people going crazy. You've got man being inhuman to man while the world is ending around them.  People being absurdly selfish while people are struggling just to survive.  Zombies doing zombie stuff.  Don't want to give away too much of the plot, but it'll have themes you've seen in any zombie flick as well as an "everyman" turning into a one man zombie killing army.

The main game is challenging and fun.  You have to make decisions unless you're just really good at it.  People may have to die and I think people that don't enjoy the game have the most problem with that.  It's just extremely hard, IMO, to be perfect at this game.  The psychopaths are a bit over the top and the fights with them are really the only glaring weakness the game has outside of the save system.

However, the most fun is just killing zombies in all of the interesting ways you can do it. The story is time limited and thus may impede on your zombie genocidal tendencies.

And in other news...

I think I may be stuck in skate.  I really don't think I'll be able to complete the last remaining photo or finish any of the 9 (ugh) remaining videos unless I spend 1-2 hour sessions trying each one, which is decidedly less fun than just tricking around the own.  I may never get to the x-games or other park.  This kind of pisses me off.  They look to be rather fun.  Sad Panda

You're almost to the X-games if you've only got that much left.  The mega-ramp is an amusing way to work towards the achievement for breaking every bone 10 times.

As for 'what I'm playing updates', E4 finally broke Skate's stranglehold on my gaming time and made me start playing Lumines again for some reason.

Since EQ2 decided to not work at 1280x720 anymore and I can't seem to get any tech help on that one, I've been playing some Bioshock...which is now crashing on map close occasionally...

So I've been playing Freedom Force v 3rd Reich.

Finished (re)playing HL2 on my new rig.

Last night for a while of WoW tonight, 10 arenas and I'm done with WoW for the next couple months.

I feel I should start into HL2:Ep1, but not sure if I can be arsed after HL2 became a bit of a slog. I dunno. I have a jonesing to play through Star Wars: Republic Commando again on the new Rig. Might be fun for a change and break.

HL2:Ep1 is shorter and sweeter, less filler than HL2 itself.  Added a couple new things as well.

Yeah its the only Source game that constantly crashes at one part on my pc. Take a look at the sound loop bug on the Steam forums reported at launch and they never found the issue/fixed it :(

360 demo?  I had a strong aversion to that one.  Did not like at all.  Probably because I was so bad at it.

Portal with developer commentary, skate (frustration aside, this is still guaranteed fun), and TF2.  I actually didn't completely suck yesterday at TF2.  Nerf is really damn good at that game.  Freshfruit type shit.

You played with the wrong kids, however it definitely is costly if you want to compete with that this guy looks legit with the djinn deck.

Purchased yesterday, not booted:
Ratchet & Clank Future [PS3]  awesome, for real
Soul Nomad [PS2]
GrimGrimoire [PS2]
Folklore [PS3]

Actually played yesterday:
Hellgate beta [PC]  this guy looks legit
Mythos beta [PC]  awesome, for real

Ratchet & Clank is awesome.  Hooray for sticking with a formula that works.  Now the question is how to balance that with Folklore and still leave enough time to be the F13 goat in team Fortress.

I have recently joined the ranks of 360 owners so all my gaming time is being spent on it these days.  My PC sits idle except for actual *gasp* work.

Since it teh new shiny I'm throwing nearly game I can beg/borrow/steal download into it but most of my time it's one of:

Forza 2
Halo - Yes, the first one.  I'm working my way up to 3.
Guitar Hero II - Which I've become hopelessly addicted to despite sucking at it.  I'm really pumped about III coming out this weekend.

Don't think I've played a MMOG in 4 months and with XBL I doubt I will be any time soon.

Had downloaded this to the 360 but hadn't played it until some friends came over Friday night.  I went down to Best Buy and bought it yesterday morning, it was that much fun.

TF2, a splash of Portal, procrastinating on finishing Persona 3, FFT on my new PSP.

November is going to suck once I get my 360; Ace Combat (with flight controllers, lol), NHL 08, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed....

Yup, 360 demo. I sucked at it at first as well (losing by double digits), but I cranked back the difficulty until I learned to play the game properly, and then put it back. I bet my time played for the demo was in the multiple of hours. The game itself is pretty fun, but harder, especially at first when you have to put your rookie you created on the field with basically no stats.

Friday, played Halo 3 with System Link and 2 40" LCDs hooked up. THAT was way more fun then I expected. I then tried playing it single player on the weekend and hated it.

EQ2 still bugged, still no CS support. Still playing Bioshock and FFvtTR. Loaded up X3 + a starter tutorial because there is a learning curve. Seems like an interesting game, maybe some day I'll mount that curve. I made pretty good progress, but I decided to do it way too late at night, got kerpwned in combat because either my ship sucks too bad or my mouse sensitivity is too low (and can't be reset).

Although it's an interesting game, I can't stop chuckling because the big bad guys are called the Kha'Ak and it's fully voiced over. The voice-overs are nice, actually, almost anything you could think of is voiced. But...the big bad guys are called the Kha'Ak. The intro is hilarious, and chuckles pop up throughout. Note to game devs: do not make your villians rhyme with cock in a fully voiced game, unless you enjoy unintentional juvenile hilarity.

By 'rhyme with' I mean homophone. The villians are The Cock. We must stop the cock. The cock invasion. Find the cock homeworld. Watch out for cock ships, a cock patrol. The cock destroyed their planet. It's splendiforous.

Played on a Wii for the first time at a Halloween party on Saturday. No desire to turn this into a Wii flame/defense thread, but I can't imagine owning it as my primary gaming system.  It's great, however, for bridging non-gamers with gamers and other non-gamers.  It was a huge hit with the group of my friends that love board games.

I keep playing skate.  I managed to complete the x-games (fun) and get Skater of the Year in both Thrasher and Skateboarding magazine. It's great that you can max out each line with a fun uncompleted challenges.  Getting close to all of the single player achievements. This is possibly the best sports game I've ever played.   The next iteration will be nothing short of fantastic if they manage to even out the difficulty some.

And lastly, Eternal Sonata.  I never imagined such a beautiful game would start so melancholy.   It breaks the heart.

That board game comment is 100% accurate.

As for games I'm currently playing? TF2 basically.  I'm specing out a new comp for the holiday rush, and looking forward to Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect.

My FNR2 career mode guy retired as champion at 53-0 with 53 knockouts a week ago or whenever it was.  I finally felt like I had won the game, and could stop playing it.  It was a relief, because there really was a lot about it that I didn't like.

It was a weird experience.  The game was 51% stuff I absolutely love, and 49% stuff I absolutely hate.  I've never forced myself to plow through a game like that before.

Yah, that's the majority of stuff I do.  I look for a nice gap, grind, or just ridiculous jump.  Been trying to work in manuals more as well.

Here's a nice little jump with a landing area I found today and had some fun with.

What a golden time to enjoy this hobby. After work? Got half hour to 2? Hellgate London is great fun and if it gets fixed could be an truly epic game. Caterday, Sunday Etc? want something deeper? Witcher is a wonderfull RPG. Great story, great feel. A bittersweet masterpiece. And I am ignoring titles like portal and TF2 (didn't Valve do good this time around?). Great fun, great replay value. You could not wipe the grin off of my face with a wet brick at the moment. Another note about Witcher. Boob physics for the epic win.(get the international version. Just get it.)

I started with nothing, and I still have most of it

Just played through my first mod/SP level for HL2 - Riot Act. Not bad at all actually, and finished it in 2 or 3 sessions.

Kind of re-playing through Republic Commando, though after HL2, the graphics look a bit like bantha poodoo.

Started Playing SiN Episodes 1 (did they never make a second one? The first must have been such a hit.. )  It's ok, but again after the HL2 experience, it's nothing especiale.

Considering some CoD2, since I never actually played it before. Then again I'll have CoD4 in a few days.

I need something besides FPS games to play

As mentioned in the thread I made, I am in the middle of Fire Emblem for the Wii, which finally adds in mission hardsaves so people who don't enjoy self abuse in their videogames can actually have fun with the thing.
(Normally Fire Emblem plays different than every other SRPG/Tactics styled game on the market.  It becomes soley about abusing the dumbass AI because any form of risk taking whatsoever will get you killed.  Remember the original Warhammer PC game, Shadow of the Horned Rat?  Its like that only harder.)

That and Front Mission on the DS which is pretty fun, though FM 3 and 4 are way better.  More advanced and less time in town upgrading every mech every other mission.  (Though 3 dragged things out.  4 was better overall, though it lost the destructible terrain and mech capture stuff of 3.  Sadly, Square hates us and we English speaking folks hate good games so 5 stayed in Moonspeak and Hentai Land..  cry )  I'd still buy 2 if they release it on the DS over here though.

Last week I mostly finished up Castlevania on the PSP.  Haven't unlocked 100% of Rondo remake (Because I don't care about more music to unlock), and only beat it all the way through with Richter.  (Dracula is a bitch with Maria.  His 3rd form is too tough.  She can only take 3-4 hits before dying.  Against 3 forms. Im not that good!  Got him to 1-2 more hits though.  Close enough for me.), and see no need at playing original Rondo, or replaying Symphony, so its done for now.
