So a few years ago I was finally able to get a semi-decent digital camera after studying up on the subject for awhile. I have a Cannon S60, and overall really like it. It`s no SLR, but does good for what it is. Since I got it, I`ve been playing around alot, trying to get better at taking pictures. I figured I would throw a link out to some of what I feel are the better pictures I`ve taken over the years: http://picasaweb.google.com/Telekuu/PhotosAny thoughts, opinions, advice, and general comments are appreciated (on the pictures or photography in general). As is probably evident from the pictures, I tend to favor outdoor/landscape type shots. I have a friend (who has a much nicer camera) who is really good at doing the more artsy, cool angle, black and white type of photos. I wish I was better at that, but I`m working on it, heh. He`s also really good at making them look badass with photoshop, which I should also probably start trying. As it is, these are all unmodified. I would love to see photos by other people if anybody wants to post them. I`m finding I really enjoy going out somewhere and fucking around with my camera all day, and figured there would be some other people on the board with like minds.

Now that you point it out, everything is really centered.

I have forgotten pretty much everything I ever learned about photography (college courses ~1992) except the Rule of Three. And, always run with a UV filter.

Why am I homeless? Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question. They called it The Prayer, its answer was law Mommy come back 'cause the water's all gone

The colors and saturation are very nice though. Almost looks like Fuji Velvia.

Thanks, I was pretty happy with that one as well. Was taken in Kyoto back in fall. Quit putting your horizons right in the middle of the shots. Remember the rule of 3.
Yeah, composition is something I know I have to work on. I just cant seem to get it right sometimes. Thats what annoys me, as my friend can take pictures of really basic shit, but do it in such a way as to make a good looking photo. I often tend to rely on just finding the most beautiful scenes I can, and hope for the best, heh.

Yea, I wouldn't mind super hi-res ones of the people walking with just one or two in focus. How about it? :)

Sure, no prob. Here are the the two pics at their full size (fricken 2592x1944. Looks grainy when you view it at that full size), so resize/crop however you want. The third one is another similar pic which I didn't post (in case your interested), because I didn't manage to really catch anybody completely in focus like I managed with the other two (I took alot of pics trying to get that). I'm still amazed that the girl in the second pic stood still so perfectly for so long as to come out that in focus. Pic 1Pic 2Pic 3And just for shits and giggles, here is a video I took of the COOLEST man in Kyoto, when I was walking back to the train station: BLING BLING'Normal' people make fun of my vacaction pictures because there's rarely people in them. Haha, its exactly the same for me. When ever I am out with friends on trips, everybody is always getting group shots or pictures with them by what ever shrine/temple/freaky Japanese person we are nearby. I'll be over playing with my camera trying to get a good shot of something, and some of them will always say "Oh, do you want me to take the picture so you can be in it?" "No, I don't want to fuck up the damn shot with me in it." Love the Schooner picture!
