He was getting up there, but sad nonetheless.

Sad, but we knew it was coming.  Maybe I'll re-read all his books in memoriam.

And I'm glad he acheived his lifelong goal of not committing suicide (successfully).

Witty banter not included.

Not dead, just cruising the cosmos with Tralfalmadorians. Cat's Cradle is one of my all time favorite books. Not much else I can say.

Sad news indeed, one of my favorite (if not my very favorite) authors.  It's somewhat amazing he survived as long as he did though, considering his chain-smoking for 60+ years and his suicide attempts.  I found it interesting that he died of brain injuries following a fall, and not symptoms resulting from old age or disease.  Who said smoking or depression were bad?

I'm going to get drunk and call ex-girlfriends in your honor tonight, Kurt. RIP.

Imus makes fun of nappy-headed basketball players on a team no one gives a shit about, submits himself to public humiliation and THEN gets fired.

Fox news shits on one of the greatest authors in American history and no one cares/notices/gives a shit.

This has been a good few weeks for American Media.

Goddamnit.

Anyone that watches Fox News and takes any of it seriously deserves what they get.  I'd be saddened to know that the news shows on Comedy Central are a more accurate depiction of reality.

As for Kurt, I've always loved this quote:

Quote from: Kurt Vonnegut
If you can do a half-assed job of anything, you're a one-eyed man in a kingdom of the blind.

Rest peacefully Mr. Vonnegut.  Thank you for the great quotes and interesting works.
