Okay, after reading that site, I learned three things:

1: Phylon is a greek word for "Tribes"
2: Phylon (the game, I mean) looks like a sci-fi  FPS in which you fly around on jetpacks in huge outdoor battles, and
3: If I want to know anything else about the game, I get to wait in line for an hour to download their commercials.

Is this game really an MMO ripoff of Tribes?  Or what?

Actually it looks like a rehash of the MMORPG they bought (Endless Ages) with stolen borrowed WoW battlegrounds. Even the screenshots look the same.

Endless Ages

It is being called the first MMORTFPSRPG. For those of you who like to know what we're talking about that's Massively Multiplayer Online Real Time First Person Shooter Roleplaying Game. Combining the action and pace of a first person shooter, with the advancement and the shear addictive power of a roleplaying game, all set in the immersive world of a massively multiplayer environment gives Endless Ages a significant edge, even if the abbreviation is a little cumbersome.

The game is set in a sort of afterlife where three races -- humans, amphibians and blobics -- go after they die. In this afterlife death is of little consequence; once you die you instantly re-spawn to fight again. While the story isn't heavily emphasized it's an interesting way to explain the coexistence of such different species together as well as the rationale behind resurrecting dead characters.

In this world the greatest minds of the world before have brought with them the technology and information they acquired in their previous life. This means that weapons and vehicles such as jetpacks are in ample supply for anyone with enough cash. Not to be outdone by science and engineering, the more arcane powers are present as well, with the human females wielding magic and amphibians exerting mind control over the local wildlife to fight for them. Endless Ages has really tried to combine everything in this game, offering something to everyone.

In addition to frogs it appears you can play as some sort of anime girl or something. I'd know for sure but I would have had to download something from fileplanet, which sucks fucking shit.

I downloaded this game, installed it, played it for about 5 minutes before realizing it was absolutely and completely terrible, and removed it.

The interface is clunky, the world is poorly put together, and the feedback you receive as a player whether you're attacking something or not (or attacking you) is awful.
