I read an article not too long ago that said investors were eager to find something worthless to throw away their money on. Someone paid $250,000 for this pile of shit. |

They are about to release their 4th FREE expansion for AUto Assault, meaning they are still pouring money down that sinkhole. Fools and their money are soon parted. |

FYI Greetings! You've just signed up to be part of the development of the very first LEGO Massively Multiplayer Online Game. LEGO is working with NetDevil, a well-known game creator, to build an incredibly fun and safe virtual LEGO world, where you will create the environment, and add to the gameplay. We'll be sending you regular updates on the game development progress. Don't worry though, we won't over do it. Soon we'll be inviting community members like you to help us make decisions about game development, as well as getting early access to the virtual building tools in order to be the first to populate this new virtual world. I'd play a Lego MOG with a heavy collect-em-all component. Maybe, depends on the time commitment. Trading bricks? Brick auction house? Sure. You wouldn't really need currency, the Lego equivalent to a SOJ would show up sooner rather than later.

Kotaku Article from the other dayseems the gameplay elements, Lego-building and social networking will all be taking place on the same screen.
The game's being developed in very, very close consultation with Lego fans, who test out every aspect of the game as NetDevil are implementing it.
They're hoping to have the game rolled out by mid-2008.
There's one more point of info, but the translation's a tad confusing, so i'll just post it raw: "Ultimately the LEGO Group want to offer the unique experience to play with the LEGO brick both virtually and physically together with your friends from all over the world, and you can even change from the physically to the virtual play as you like - "You are in control"." NetDevil is Auto Assault and Jumpgate before it. I've never been quite sure how they entered a relationship with LEGO, particularly to build something that sounds more multiverse-ish than game-directed. Interesting pairing.

Oldest necro yet? Eurogamer had a sitdown with Netdevil, and posted new screenshots. Highlights: - Even they say it sounds like the Traveller's Tale (LEGO <Lucas license>) Lego games
- Stats are invisible to the user
- Public space adventure and private-space building. Won't be able to share stuff from the private space until it has been vetted though.
- Construction can be entirely manual or like the LEGO <Lucas license> type: rise from a pile into a pre-determined shape.
- Imagination level = mana
tl;dr: LEGO Star Wars without the IP and some co-op. |
