This is where I say:

The 360 is well past the point where you have to like every game now. ;)

Cool looking physics/explosions and all, but it's looks hilarious otherwise. Possibly a worse idea than Bloodrayne (did you buy that?).

Not trying to be a dick. It's just funny looking to me. I await real world impressions.

No I didnt buy Bloodrayne.

This game has been talked about for 360 for quite a while. I think it was released in Japan a while ago. I remember gamespy ran several previews for it.

I know it's been talked about for awhile.

But that's partly why I said: The 360 is well past the point where people have to like these games. Or even talk about them.

You're past the launch point. The platform has a fair share of rocking games already. Desperation for titles is over. Time to be more judgmental than average.

This be the case for any new console. We close our eyes more than usual (like I'm doing on the PS3 haha)....

But anyways, I'm really trying to look out for you, man. I know you didn't ask for it, but I gotta do it. $60 is a lot of money for a potentionally horrible game.

Avg ratio so far on GameRankings is 59%

That isn't so hot.

Then look at the trailers and gameplay footage. If you don't laugh, you're a bigger man than me.

Also, before you say reviews don't matter, let me suggest that you find a demo first, if you can.

Also, just buy Devil May Cry 3 and have fun. :)

It's middling. We're about halfway through.

The lead character is one of the best designed characters I've seen in years. And it's not about the boobies either. It's just great design.

Edit: It's a $50 game.

By design do you mean animations? Artwork?

Also, that broom looks fucking stupid. Sorry.

[EDIT]

Nice hair though.

Doesn't really look like a broom to me. Looks like a crazy guitar gun. And it's pretty f'ing cool in game.

I mean the animations, artwork, everything about the character. Some love went into her. The monsters though? Not so much.

Fair enough. Sans broom, I think she looks cool. Some of those magic effects look cool too.

IGN says 6 stages and three to four hour length. That right?

She looks cool with the gun.

3-4 hours? Maybe on easy or normal. We're playing hard. Which was stupid. Because it's kinda broken.

Four hours on normal? $50? That's splendid!

I won't even bother mocking the stupid premise of the game.

God of War was 6 hours for $50. This game is no God of War.

But that's not really the point.

There is one thing this game has though - a shitload of replay value. Once you beat the game, you can select single levels and get score ranked around the world. I'm kinda a top score whore (shmups and whanot), so... yea. I like that.

God of War can be challenging though (and wasn't broken on Hard). It's not as challenging as others in it's genre, I think, but it took me longer than 6 hours at least.

We talked about this the other day though. I don't mind short games. So long as they're sweet. But for $50, that's really pushing it. Katamari and Rez were like $20. And those were very, very sweet to boot.

Yes. There are things at both ends of the spectrum. Anyway, some people hate it, some will love it.

I've heard mixed reviews of it. The bottom line seems to be it's a reasonably fun, quick, action game. Nothing more, nothing less.

Heck, the gun-rod looks like a Lahti anti-tank rifle with a broom stuck on the end. How cool is that? Not something you see everyday, let me tell you.

I'll probably try and hook up with a used copy. I predict a week tops when they start showing up locally on the used shelves at EB.

I'll try to get someone to let me put this in the demo unit so I can get some time on it.

As much as I love Fight Night Rd 3, change can be good sometimes.

Bump:

I got to play this for a bit today, after being told for a week or two that the game was terrible, that it really needed some kind of "lock-on" aiming (wtf? l2p), etc.

I didn't have time to get through the first map, but I found the game to be reasonably fun. Some of the magic was neat, her movements are pretty cool, and the gun is awesome.

Unfortunately, the environments look generic at best (from what I saw), and the mobs I saw look like they were ripped straight out of CoX.

I think the lead character in this game is easily one of the most well designed and well animated characters in the last few years of gaming. Well, when you consider she didn't come from a AAA+ $30M+/per game studio.

The flight on the plane was hella cool - if anyone played that far.

Didn't you say you always play a game on the normal difficulty, you never want anything artificially hard or easy?

How was Hard mode broken, stuff just had way more HP than necessary? I will assume so, since the AI is non-existant from what I saw.

Yea. All hard mode did was up the hit points and up the amount of damage bullets did to you. Lazy man's game design.

God of War was 6 hours for $50. This game is no God of War.

It's twelve hours for $50 if you are like me and grin the whole time you are playing as the Cod of War.
