I love my TV an' hug my TV an' call it 'George'.

on: February 23, 2007, 08:41:23 AM

Please help me in my personal crusade to exorcise the word awesome from general usage. I've decided splendid should be the new awesome. "That's totally fucking splendid, dude!"

Thank you for your support. Don't be a hater, be a participator.

I have been using this word a lot recently.  I think this is a capital idea.

Can we bring back "righteous" instead? I always felt it got a bad rap.

I had a roommate in college that always used the word "Mint" instead of awesome or cool.  Made me want to punch him in the face.

My roommate was a TE and I was a defensive back.  I think you can imagine why I had to demonstrate some restraint.

Nope.  "Rad" is out too.

I suggest "fetch", from that ridiculous movie.

Awesome. Badass. Sick. I use those plenty, I have no shame.

In more, umm, professional settings: Great. Fantastic. Excellent.

Never use Splendid. That's almost as bad as "I say!" or "By Jove!"

People in Massachusettes STILL say wicked, even kids. So I don't think awesome is going to go away any time soon.

I enjoy using 'rad' sarcastically.

Personally, I think people should say, "boss" more.

I traded in my fun blog for several legal blogs. Or, "blawgs," as the cutesy attorney blawgosphere likes to call 'em.
