It's gotta be a joke; there is no way to see text on a device as small as that, or to aim and target properly, or even to have enough keys to be able to effectively control the 25+ abilities/spells that every class gets. Can't imagine someone being able to function as a healer or tank or hell, anything in a raid.

I think this blows it: I tried to get more on WOW but all I could get was, "Steve goes big and WOW is as big as they come when it comes to on-line games."
That has faux in-crowd hipper-than-thou bullshit written all over it. |

Square has tried to tie cell-phones in with their games. They don't actually play the games, they can just interface in a small way. Like send messages to people who are playing, maybe check your in-game mail or your auction house or some crap like that - raise a Chocobo err somethin'.
I would assume any WOW integration would be at that level.

That's where I see this going too Margalis. I'm big on platform independence, and there's some stuff an iPhone could let people do in WoW without it having to run the whole client (there's no way. Not nearly enough horsepower and Cingular wouldn't sign up for that bandwidth).
So at best it's a portal view of WoW to do things like crafting and AH purchases, maybe check mail.
At worst it's just an RPG called WoW like that EQ2 cellphone game. But this is just a weak way out, a brand extension.
But most likely it's e-peen bunk from someone who wants to be on the inside but isn't.
