So I was reading some news and saw a banner ad that caught my eye. Following it, I found this:

http://www.peacemakergame.com/

It's some kind of RTS/Civ style game where you can play Israel or Palestine. You deal with all the modern conflicts associated with the region. The goal is to create peace between the two sides, and win the Nobel Peace Prize. From reading it, it seems pretty well modelled. You have factors like Hamas and the UN, who react to the decisions you make. I'm gonna have to check it out at home sometime this weekend.

I really like that someone made a game that has a grander goal than just shallow entertainment.

What's the combat like?

Do I get to launch rockets into ghetto neighborhoods, or strap homemade C-4 to my chest and detonate in crowded marketplaces?

This sounds like the perfect game for some good PVP action.

It's singleplayer and, I believe, turn based. I've been meaning to pick it up and review it, but other crap keeps coming up and destroyinating my free time.

Looks kind of like Civ or Caesar or something.

The part I liked the most from that site: the use of puzzle pieces to represent Israel and Palestine. That was a nice touch.

Lum did his review on this recently which was worth a read and a chuckle.

Or we can keep making games about hit points and barely dressed young women. I bet a game with both hit points AND barely dressed young women would be awesome.

So, Lum's going to skip on God of War 2?
