He said that at the beginning of January, it was impossible to find a PS3 back then. I HATE HATE HATE (/kefka) that people are reporting this not-story.
  Fucking fake journos.

							Yeah, old news.
That being said, I could have won $1200 ;).

I actually didn't have the easiest time finding one though. I hopped to a couple Best Buys, Gamestops, and a Target. Didn't find one Playstation. Then I walked into a Toys R Us and there were a half of dozen 60GB models laying around.

It wasn't impossible to find a PS3 in early January, I saw a couple sitting around in Best Buys.  Plus I read the article, got a free EGM subscription.  The things the Sony guy was saying were all bullshit.  Let me give you a beautiful tidbit: Q: MotorStorm looks great, but it doesn't really look anything like the original video that you showed a couple of years ago to represent the gameplay.  What is the purpose of misleading the public like that?  Aren't you setting consumers up for disappointment later? A: Well, I guess that's a matter of opinion.   I feel it looks identical and actually personally commented that it delivers on the promise of what we showed two years earlier.  Also, that was a prelook at a press conference.  It wasn't shown to consumers; we didn't market that footage.  We showed what the machine could do, and I think MotorStorm does and will deliver on that promise.  The consumer will be the ultimate judge, and that's who we're beholden to. For anyone who doesn't know what a ginormous flat-out lie that is, you can view the smoking gun for yourself here.

I'll assume you linked to the Killzone 2 video.
That implies that you thought it was all real.
That's kinda your fault. I had more faith in the rubber ducky thing being real. Turns out I was right.
And comeon, you went through this exact same shit when the PS2 launched. Emotion engine my balls.
Turned out to sell 110M+ units.

No, he linked to an old Motorstorm trailer (old as in old...Other, more representative ones have been out for a year now).
And either way, that game still looks pretty great. Looks just like any trailer they've claimed to be actual gameplay.
  Killzone 2: Yeah, that's bullshit.
I'd love to be surprised though...

I don't remember anyone claiming that the motorstorm video was gameplay...other than that quote from the interview that is.

From a report on the Sony keynote speech at GDC:
...apparently a real-time MotorStorm demo is on display.
They were tossing up pre-rendered footage and calling it real-time.

Hmm, I really don't want to fight with you about it, but as you stated, that's just a report. Not the actual words of the keynote speech. Until you can find a quote, there isn't much to argue about. Look for an old Q&A session or something. I will agree that Sony PR can be full of shit though.

The Motorstorm and Killzone 2 debates aren't worth rehashing anyway.  I'm fairly critical of how Sony has handled the PS3, but does anyone really take non-playable demos seriously, especially when they're being shown a year or more before the games expected release?  This kind of thing has been done for many a year now and by many a company.  I'm sure amusing articles can, and probably have been written about all the broken promises made at events like E3 and TGS.
