Boston was not a fun place to be in today.  Although this should merit at least TWO mentions on a snarky blackboard pre-Adult Swim tonight.

Did these things just go up yesterday or something? The article leads me to believe they've been up for awhile.

Just looking at the caption for the title image in that article says they've been up in 10 cities for weeks now.

Yeah, but they didn't say how long in Boston, specifically.

hahahah, the wimps at Adult Swim got their marching orders I guess. They're doing a series of silent bumps apologizing for the incident.

They need to make a terrorism episode of ATHF now if they have any credibility whatsoever.

I want the dumb cunt who called it in put to sleep for the sake of humanity. MAN THIS THING HAD A LIT UP CARTOON THING FLIPPING ME OFF AND IT WASNT THERE YESTERDAY SO I OBVIOUSLY THOUGHT IT WAS TERRORISM AND CALLED ALL MY NEWS CHANNELS AND PAPERS AND THE POLICE AND FBI AND WHAT THE FUCK WHY CANT I GET ACROSS TOWN NOW JESUS

It was a sign, and not the sort that appear on high.  What sort of terrorist would plant a bomb with lights on it?  The Joker?

What is next?  Christmas light scares?  Reporting the homeless as suspicious individuals with packages that may conceal a bomb?

Christmas light scares?

Don't kid.  You should see the houses around here.

They arrested the poor sap that put them up and are saying they will charge him with a felony. I didn't realize "Making Us Look Stupid" is a crime.

It would be true though.  The bomb just doesn't happen to be of the exploding type.

IF THOSE THINGS HAD BEEN BOMBS THEY COULD HAVE EXPLODED!!!  That is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

They are never going to convict them of anything since it obviously was not a hoax, it was advertising.  Unless of course they decide to strip them of their rights, ship them to Guantanamo bay and find them guilty by royal proclamation, which I understand is allowed now.

If I saw some random lit up sign with a strange logo I didn't know, I'd probably ask around about it to friends. My first instinct wouldn't be to call the police as most people who want to blow things up don't try to draw attention to the explosives.

Ah, but the terrorists are counting on you thinking they wouldn't put lights on a bomb.  They are cunning like that.

Don't you watch movies? All bombs come with a digital clock and lights that tell you the bomb is armed, active and PRECISELY when it's about to go off. That way you know when to dial up the dramatic music when the handsome-yet-daring bomb squad agent attempts to defuse it just as the timer clicks down the final seconds. Duhhhhhh.

I would so set it to go off at a random time.  The clock would be there to mess with people's heads.

Twice as many people die from medical mistakes or car accidents every month than 9/11 yet I don't see us fighting war on doctor incompetence or automotive safety. Fucking nutjobs pissing freedom away for no good fucking reason, not even safety, if you look at numbers. Cocksuckers.

My favorite comment was the courtscene video I saw where the guy said it had something that was wrapped in duct tape that would look like a block of C4 would wrapped in duct tape.

I now know how to get rid of people I don't like.  Wrap them in duct tape and report them as a bomb. (oh god kidding don't capture me CIA)

IMO, if the ASA really goes through with a trial on these bomb hoax charges, he should get a nice kick in the ass from the Mass. State Bar.  It seems pretty damn clear that these guys didn't have the intent to cause a bomb hoax.  It's a breach of legal ethics to bring a frivolous suit and I'm pretty sure that prosecutors are held to an even higher standard.  Were I the ASA in this situation, I'd have told my boss he could do the work because I wasn't going to put my ethics on the line for something so goddamn retarded.

I traded in my fun blog for several legal blogs. Or, "blawgs," as the cutesy attorney blawgosphere likes to call 'em.
